Because of you, we’ve been able to engage with over 5,000 young people in Kingsbridge—through clubs, mentoring, schools work, youth services, and outreach on the Quay. We’ve seen young people grow in faith, take first steps in following Jesus, and find safe spaces where they are loved, supported, and discipled. While some plans were paused during Becky’s maternity leave, we are excited for the year ahead and remain committed to seeing young lives transformed by Jesus. Some of them will be regular one to one work in the secondary school where we do not overtly share our faith and some will be direct discipling of young people in our Christian Union and Bible studies but everything we do is to ultimately see young people’s lives transformed by Jesus. **‘’4 young people made decisions to follow Jesus’** ## **The Primary Focus for 2024-25** Kingsbridge Youth For Christ has successfully met all of its goals for the year. However, a few initiatives will be carried forward, as there remains further opportunity to develop and expand their impact. This year we had 5109 engagements with young people. 2761 of those were with 11-18 year olds and 2348 of them were with under 11’s. These engagements are across all of our projects and vary in terms of sharing Jesus. Over the past year, four young people made a first-time decision to follow Jesus or expressed a desire to welcome Him into their lives. Beyond that, we’ve witnessed many others take meaningful steps toward Jesus—their minds are opening, and their hearts are being gently prepared. **7** ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** ## **PROJECTS** ## **Limitless Festival 2024** Limitless Festival is a five-day Elim run Christian youth camp in Stafford featuring daily gatherings for worship, word and ministry, a huge variety of activities and fun games and other events throughout the day. We have taken a year off from Limitless Festival in summer 2026 while Becky is away but are planning on returning here or to another festival in summer 2026. This marked our third year bringing a group of young people, with 13 attending—some of whom had joined us the previous year. We once again held a prayer breakfast a few weeks before the trip at Kingsbridge Family Church. We had a great morning, sharing about the success of the previous year, worshipping and expectantly praying for each of the young people who were going. We prayed that they would meet with Jesus and have their lives completely changed and transformed. We again created a daily prayer guide for the week so that churches and individuals would be able to support the trip and we set up a prayer space on social media for regular prayer updates during the week. It was an amazing week! Four young people made a decision to follow Jesus and three of them have regularly followed up with us at Christian Union and church to be discipled. One of them we do still see regularly and are praying that he feels able to get connected in with CU. **8** ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** ## **The Lounge** The Lounge is our weekly youth club held in Kingsbridge Family Church from 7-8.30pm for school years 7-11. The Lounge team is made up of 11 volunteers from local churches as well as Jasper and Becky. There is table tennis, a pool table, an air hockey table, a gaming PC, Nintendo switch, a tuck shop and an area to play games and chill. We also run some football with a soft ball upstairs to get some of the youth’s energy out and they really enjoy that. Almost all of the young people that attend the club have no church background. Each week one of the team will lead a God slot – a team game, a fun challenge or something similar, and an evangelistic talk sharing something of their testimony; the difference Jesus has made in their lives and God’s heart for the young people that attend. Several young people have responded throughout the year and now join us for our CU. Since January, The Lounge numbers have dropped and Jasper has tried to rethink and relaunch the club with limited success. One of our goals for next year - April to March 26 is to develop The Lounge Youth Club and make it relevant to the young people in the town. ## **Unite** As of September 2024, we revised the format of our Unite service and divided it into two distinct expressions: a monthly gathering called ‘Youth Service’ - designed to disciple Christian young people through teaching and sung worship - and ‘Unite’ to be held three times a year as an evangelistic event aimed at non-Christian youth with little or no church experience. We launched this new structure successfully but paused it in January 2025 due to Becky’s maternity leave. We look forward to resuming once she returns. **9** ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** ## **The KYFC Van** This year, we’ve continued to maintain a regular presence on the Quay in Kingsbridge. We’re there twice a week - on Tuesday afternoons after school and Friday evenings from 8:30 to 10pm. We provide a warm, welcoming space where young people can gather, enjoy hot chocolate, play PlayStation, and most importantly, engage in meaningful conversations that help build lasting relationships. We received £250 worth of hot chocolate from Coop community fund this year which we are really grateful for. This will keep us going for a long time! This year, we aimed to expand our Friday night bus outreach by growing the team. Our goal was to have two team members stationed at the bus and two walking around Kingsbridge—connecting with young people, letting them know where we are, and being available to support them. We also had a prayer team based in Word Wise during the evening. However, due to a shortage of volunteers and prayer support, we’ve been unable to sustain this setup every week. and chatting with the young people. We have really good engagement on Friday nights and it’s a pleasure to get to know the young people who come and hang out during that time. ## **Kingsbridge Family Church Youth Church** Becky has been helping to facilitate youth work on a Sunday morning at Kingsbridge Family Church. She doesn't run any of the sessions herself but organises the rota of a team of people from the church and helps to plan the sessions using the YFC resources. This group has been growing and Becky is hopeful that this model of facilitating youth work in different churches and then letting them run with it can be used in other settings. Some weeks we have had enough people to walk around the town and signpost people to the bus, have an eye out for those who might need support but more often than not there is just Becky, Jasper and Pete at the bus serving toast, hot chocolate **10** ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** ## **Christian Union** The Christian Union is now two separate groups (Christian Union and Bible Study). We have found this to be working really well, especially for the young people who need more in depth input. The Bible Study group has been thriving and it’s been really encouraging to see them grow in their knowledge of the Bible and their passion for Jesus. The CU numbers have varied throughout the year but we keep this space open with sessions available for new Christians and those in school years 7-9 for them to explore more about faith. ## **Mentoring** We’ve continued our weekly presence at Kingsbridge Community College with our dedicated team of mentors. However, we’ve not yet been able to resume leading assemblies and lessons. We remain hopeful and prayerful that this opportunity will reopen. With Becky on maternity leave over the past few months, plans to reintroduce these sessions have been temporarily paused, as Jasper did not have the capacity to launch new initiatives within the school. Nevertheless, Giles and Gordon have faithfully maintained our ongoing involvement. ## **Other Events:** SW Focus Tour – June 2024 – Joining Youth For Christ centres from around the South West in Taunton for a day of prayer Church visits – Year round - Continuing to share the mission of KYFC and encourage local churches through speaking engagements National YFC Conference- January 24 – Jasper travelled to Lichfield for the annual British Youth For Christ Conference, joining with the wider Youth For Christ family for four days. Our mentoring team is made up of 4 individuals who go in each week to spend 30 minute one to one sessions with young people who have been identified by the school as needing some extra support. It is amazing to see how God puts the mentors and mentees together. We may never know the positive impact the mentoring service has on the young people we support and while we can’t overtly talk about Jesus, we hope and pray that they feel the warmth and love of Jesus in each session. Kingsbridge Love Your Park event in August 2024 **11** ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** ## **Primary Schools** We regularly go into six local primary schools running assemblies, lessons, clubs and are part of the Ethos meetings in a few schools - helping to shape the school wide delivery of Christian content. We are regularly invited to various school events (such as harvest, Christmas celebrations and leavers services) throughout the year. In July 2024, we again delivered a series of school transition lessons to year 6 classes to help them process their feelings and emotions around making the move to secondary school. In November 24 we partnered with Salcombe Primary School, The Attic Youth Club in Loddiswell, the youth services and also Kingsbridge Family Church to put together shoebox gifts for Operation Christmas Child. It was lovely to work with the children and young people to put together these gifts for other children around the world. Everyone got really involved and between the four groups taking part we put together 37 Shoeboxes. **12** ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** ## **Rural Ministries Coordinator and Youth Worker** Jasper has been in role since January 2024. He is employed for 20 hours per week and his time is split between Kingsbridge Youth For Christ and Loddiswell Congregational Church. With Loddiswell Congregational Church Jasper heads up The Attic Youth Club which provides a safe space for young people to come and spend time with friends and hear about Jesus. Jasper has seen dramatic growth in Loddiswell, from just a handful of youngsters attending each week, to as many as 23 regularly coming along. He is thankful for the team of volunteers he has pulled together. He has put together an event for the Loddiswell youth at East Soar called ‘Momentum’ which will take place in July 2025. **13** ## **TRUSTEES’ REPORT** - 2025-26 OBJECTIVES **Develop The Lounge youth club to be fruitful and relevant to the young people in the town at this time Increase monthly giving through individual donors, Churches and grant funding** **Further explore the possibility of a Primary Schools and Youth Worker. Restart monthly youth services when Becky returns from maternity leave Continue to grow the relationship with KCC with the hopes of being able to run lessons, assemblies. We must pray into this more.** **13 14** ## **FINANCE REPORT Helen Leather, Treasurer** ## **Income** Income has been declining over the past three years - from £58,137 (2022–23) to £42,620 (2024–25). Notably due to a drop in personal donations and Gift Aid. Donations specifically for "youth work” (as opposed to “general funds” fell from over £20,000 (2023) to just over £9,000 (2025). ## **Thank you** However, In particular we are extremely grateful to Salcombe Holy Trinity Church for their very generous monthly donations and we are also very thankful to Loddiswell Congregational Church for paying part of Jasper’s salary in his role as Rural Ministries Coordinator and Youth Worker. ## **Expenditure** Expenditure increased in 2024–25: Staff costs rose with two youth workers now employed ◦ (vs one last year). Bus costs increased due to essential repairs. Coffee bar costs rose sharply due to inflation and increased use during outreach. ## **Encouraging Developments:** Rent significantly reduced to £500 (from £2,383) after relocating to Kingsbridge Family Church. Interest income is growing. The savings made in areas like rent and the reduced number of special events due to Becky’s pregnancy has helped the cash flow recover in the second half of the year ## **Looking Ahead:** As trustees we are very aware of the need to publicise Youth For Christ and attract more donors and volunteers and aim to make this a focus for this year.
