Meals on Wheels, March - April 2020 At the start of the first lockdown, we wanted to remain as active as possible in serving the local community whilst we were formulating a plan for the ongoing work of Kingsbridge Youth For Christ. One such place was in making use of the KYFC bus. We used our bus to help local charity. Kingsbridge Age Concern. deliver meals to the elderly. Each day our centre director. Jonny and youth worker, Becky. delivered hot meals at lunch time to residents of the town in the KYFC bus. Despite the requirement for gloves. masks. meticulous hygiene and social distancing processès involvèd with food delivèry, it Was a pleasure to meet and serve membèrs of the community at the other end of the age range. IN Finally In March 2021, the lockdown was lifted and we wère ablè to go back into the schools, and begin to think about reopening our clubs. the bus returning to the quay. and CU meeting up in person again. We finished off our "Nomentous" mentoring course at the end of Narch. and continue to support KCC. In future, we plan to take on and train more volunteer mentors to meet the growing needs for this in school and to extend this Drogramme to include mÈntorin9 for girls. From April 2020-March 2021, a total of 8 pupils receivèd mentoring support from KYFC.
