Trustees are appointed by Members in a General Meeting. The Chair of the Trustees is responsible
for the induclion of any new committee member; this involves av￿reneSS of responsibilities, of t
goveming document. of administrative procedures and of the history and activities of the
Pssociation. A new member should receive copies of the previous years annual report and
accounts. contact details of other Trustees. as well as a copy of the Charity Commission leaflet

Organlsallon structur• of TAL and doclslon maklng process
Although the Trustees have uttimate responsibilty for the runnir@ of Association they receive
advice from the Honorary Govemors vtho are elders of Ihe community. In lum Ihe Trustees appoint
Secretaries to take responsibilty for organising one of the range of the V￿de range of activities as
well as fcff financial and administrative support. Se(xetaries are expeded to regularly report back
to the Twstees.
Rlsks and Int•rnal control
The Trustees have overall responsibility for ensuring that TAL has appropriate systems of control,
both financial and operational. These systems should be designed to provide reasonable, but not
absolute. assurance against material misstatement or k>ss. The new Tfustees have recogni5ed
that there rna1￿ finan￿al and operational risks facing TAL in tenns of financial control and
governan￿. They are iTnplemenling an aclion plan lo ensure that. as far as is reasonable, controls
are in pla￿ to protect TAL. its Membets. thÈ general public and other stakeholders.

How has TAL trled to further these aims?
Dunng the year TAL has organised a sefies of cultural events and sports activities and has provided
educational serVI￿S through the TAL Cultural Centre. Although primarity accessed by members of
the Telugu community ￿Elcome IrKlividuals from all backgrounds.
The Trustees consider that Ihe adNities undertaken, offered at no or minimal cosl. prowde benefit
to the community as a whole and confirm that in exercisiro their powers and duties. they have
cornplied Viith their duty to have due regard to the guidan￿ on public benefit published by the
Charity Commission and have complied vath their duties under Section 17 of the Chartlies Act
2011.

Financlal rosults for th• year
During the year TAL'S total ￿ceIptS of £93,143 compared to previous year of £85.578 due to
organising various activities and events and total spending of £83,632 compared to previous year
of £98,630. hO￿￿ver the charty made a surplus of £9,511 compared to deficit of £13,052 in the
previous year due lo spending on events arKI acitvitses. TruSt￿S would expect io make an
occasional defial as long as these are matched over time by compensating surpluses. Cash
holdings remain heatthy V•ith £40,160 (2024 .'£30.649) in the bank at year end.

Reserves Pollcy
The aim of the Trust&s is to ensure that TAL holds adequate reserves to all(yw it to continue its
charitable objectives. Since there are neither paid staff, nor premises and since all activities should
be self-funding the Trustees believe that a reser￿ of £25.000 should be sufficient. However. as at
31 March 2025 reserves stood at £40,160. As there a￿ no designated reserves the excess
reserve furK1s will be deployecl in the future in support of activities in line with TAL'S objects.
Plans for Futurn Perfods
Twstees are confidenl the situation will improve a lol in the coming years and the ¢ommunty is
groviing in UK and would be aiming to have it's premises for soclal galhenngs and also
creating an acadetny for sports and maknng itself seff-sustainable in fLrture times.

Although the Trustees have ultimate responsibility for the running of the Association they re￿1ve
advi￿ from the Honorary Governors who are elders of the community. In tum the Trustees appoint

well as for financial and administrative support. Secretaries are expected to regularly report back
to the Trustees.

both financial and operational. These systems should be designed to provide reasonable, but not
absolute, assurance against material misstatement or loss. The new Trustees have recognised
that there were major financial and operational risks facing TAL in terms of financial control and
governance. They are implementing an action plan to ensure that, as far as is reasonable, controls
are in place to prolect TAL, its Members, the general public and other stakeholders.

The Telugu Association of London promotes rnainty for the benefit of the public particularly and
not exclusively the Telugu Community in the United Kingdom, in particular
a) The advancement of education including education in Telugu history, culture and customs:

c) The provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure lime
occupation of individuals, who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth. age,
infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstan￿$ wtth the object of improving

How has TAL trled to further these alms?
During the year TAL has organised a series of cultural events and sports activities and has provided
educational ServI￿S through the TAL Cultural Centre. Although primarily accessed by members of
the Telugu community we welcome individuals from all backgrounds.
The Trustees consider that the activities undertaken, offered at no or minimal cost, provide benefit
to the community as a ￿ole and confirm that in exercising their powers and duties. they have
complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the
Charity Commission and have complied wth their duties under se￿lOn 17 of the Charities Act
2011.

Flnanclal revlew
Flnanclal results for the year
During the year TAL'S total receipts of £93.143 compared to previous year of £85,578 due to
organising various activities and events and total spending of £83,632 compared to previous year
of £98.630, however the charity made a surplus of £9,511 compared to deficit of £13,052 in the
previous year due to spending on events and activities. Trustees would expect to make an
occasional deficit as long as these are matched over time by compensatirKJ surpluses. Cash
holdings remain healthy with £40.160 (2024 '.£30,649) in the bank at year end.

R8servos Pollcy
The alm of the Trustees is to ensure that TAL holds adequate reserves to allow it to continue its

Plans for Future P8rlod8
Trustees are confideni the situation will improve a lot in the coming years and the community is
growing in UK and would be aiming to have it's own premlses for social gatherings and also
creating an academy for sports and making itself self-susiainable in future times.
Continuing wtth the existing range of events and activities.
Trustees are also aware that they need to improve the Association's governance and financial
systems including extending the online payment systems to reduce cash transactions.

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2025, which are set out on
pages 8 to 10.
Respectlve The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.
responslbllltles of The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year
trustees and examlnor under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that
an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibilty to..
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by
the Charty Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the charities Act,
and
• to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of Indgpendent My examination was carried out in accordance wlth general Directions
examlnerfs Statoment given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of
the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the
accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of
any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking
explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be
required in an audit. and consequently I do not express an audit opinion
on the view given in the accounts.
Independent examlnerf8 In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention
statement other than thai disclosed above
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material
respect, the requirements to prepare accounts which accord with the
accounting records and comply wilh the accounting requirements of
the Charrties Act have noi been met.. or
to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a
proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

**Report to the trustees** Charity Name **TELUGU ASSOCIATION OF LONDON On accounts for the year 31 MARCH 2025 Charity no 1137074 ended (if any) Set out on pages** 1-10 (remember  to include the page numbers of additional sheets) I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **DD / MM / YYYY** . **Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of  the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
