Section D Achievements and performance The clwty is in the fourth worst depnved area of Derbyshire. We enhance the lives of young chiklren, many of whth are severely chaInged by Fwr health. physical and sexual use. and basic dai personal needs. It is most satsfyiThJ that parents respond to our effcts and guidance to tske the responsibilty of being a better parent. Ofcourse, there are failures but the positive resp)nse from the majorrty maintsins our faith in this very ek%tsng charity work. Current govemment policy is not helping but we soldw on. It has been a very difficult year. Our Insuran company refused to insure on the basis that the wooden cladding on the extenor elevations was not SUlenIty fre retardant and also the fire emergency system did not mee requirements to indude all Ihting through-out the building. An overall of the metal shuttern over the windows and dcors, and a new CCTV security System was also required. All of this work has been done at great expense but n(xv meets all CUTrenl legislation.
