The chariWs trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 20111.the Act"}.
I report in respect of my examination of Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the
2011 Act and in carryin8 Out my examinatton, I have followed the applicable Directlons
8Nen by the Charity Commission under section 145 (5)b of the Act.
Independent examlnerfs ststement
I have completed my examlnatlon. I confirm that no materlal matter has come to my attention in
connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:
{1} the accounting records were not kept in accordance wlth section 130 of the Charities Act. and
(2) the Accounts did not accord with the accounting records;
(3) the Accounts did not compty wlth the applicable requirements concernln8 the form and
content of accounts set out in the Charitles (Accounts and Reports) Regulation 2008 other
than any requlrement that the accounts give a "true and fa5r" v5ew which Is not a matter
conSide￿d as part of an Independent examlnation.
I have no COn￿rn$ and have come across no other matters in connectlon wlth the examination
to which attention should be drawn in thls report In order to enable a proper understanding of
the accounts to be reached.

Lead Academy Trustees Report 2024
The trustee5 are pleased to present their annual report tO8ether with the financial statements
for the year ended 31st March 2024. The financlal statements have been prepared in accordance
with the accounting policies set out in note I to the accounts and tompty with the charty's trust
deed, the Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and the Charities Statement of Recommended
Practice (second edition) and Financial Reporting Standard FRS 102.

The charty Is constltuted through a Oeclaration of Trust. The trustees are appointed and trained
by the existing trustees. Declsions taken by the trustees are implemented by staff. volunteers and
trustees. Rachel Roberts, Edda Llndner and Chris Stoddard were employed by the
organisatlon throughout the year. Martln Wllliams, Dlrector, reslgned In June 2023.
Hnanclal revlew
The donations received decreased from £llOO(X) to £55CXX) durSng the year whilst the irbcome from
charitable actNities decreased from £59934 to £47704. The decrease in charltable artlvltles
was malnty due to a decrease in churches attendln8 learnln8 communltles.
Adequate reserves are kept to facllitate an orderly wlnding up of affairs.

The charity trustees have due re8ard to the guidan￿ on public benefft published by the
Charity Commission, in exercisin8 thelr powers and duties.
0￿ctIveS and actlvltles
The purposes of the charity is to advance the Christlan faith In the United Kingdom and in
such parts of the world that the Trustees might think fft and to fulfil such other purposes which are
exclusively charitable in terms of the law of England and Wales and are related to the charitable
work of the Trust. This is achieved through trainin& resourcing and equippin8 leaders so that
churches may become more effective in fulfilling their vision and goals.

Learnlnz Communltles
Throughout the last 12 months Lead Academy has continued its Core ministry of working with local
churches and senior church leadetshlp teams from around the UK. The primary way that this happens is
through groups of churches meeting for two days every six months over a 2 year period alongside
mentoring of indlvidual church leaders and teams in a variety of churches and denominations
during the year.
We have worked with the Church of En8land's Myriad team. a lay-led church plantin8 initiative, helping
them develop materials. train facilltators and have co-facilitsted some of thelr earty learning communities.
We have also worked with the Church in Wales, leadin8 Learning Communfrties for their Newly Licensed
Ministers and Ministry Area Teams and worked wlth the Baptist Union of Scotland In Learnin8 Communities
for their member churches.
Lead Academy has contlnued the Leader2Leader online Learning Community for senior leaders durin8
the year.
Other a¢tlvltl•s
Other activities have Included individual church leadership consultation and taster events.
We have pursued potentlal opportunltles to work In partnership wlth other organisations during this year,
althou8h success has been limited.
Significant tlme has been taken to recruit a new member of staff after the resi8natlon of Martln Willlams,
Dlrector of Lead Academy, durln8 the year.
We have continued to support a dedicated team of volunteers who serve in a variety of capacities.
particularly through offering mentoring and facilitating. There is a committed sroup of people who
offer re8ular prayer support for the work that we are doing.
Lead Academy continues to be hi8hly valued by those who 80 through thls process whlch frequently
results In churches beln8 able to implement sl8nfficant change and subsequent growth.

ACCOUNTING POUCIES
a) Ba45 of preparatlon and assessment of going concern
These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention wlth items recognised at
ost of transaction value unless othenwise stated in the relevant notes to the accounts. The
financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended
Practice (Accountin8 and Reporting by Charities), the Financial Reportlng Standard applicable in
the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Charities Act 2011.
The Charitable Company constitutes a public benefft entity as defined by FR5 102.
The Trustees consider that there are no notlonal uncertalnties about the Charlty's ability to
continue as a goin8 concern. The most Signlficant area of uncertainty Is the continued support
from donatlons.
b) Income
All income is recognised once the Charity has entitlement to the income. it is probable that the
income will be received and the amounts of Income receivable can be measured reliably.
Donations are included when the Charity becomes entitled to the donations and the value Can be
reliably measured.
c) Expendlture
Liabllltles are recognlsed as expenditure as soon as there Is a legal or constructive obligation
commtiln8 the Charity to that expenditure, St Ss probable that settlement wlll be required and the
amount of the obll8ation can be measured rellably. All expenditure is accounted for on an accrual
basis. All expenses are allocated or apportioned to the applicable expenditure heading. Furniture
and equipment are capitallsed rf they can be used for more than one year and cost at least £30(K).
d) Volunteer Help
The value of volunteer help received is not included in the accounts but is an essential part of the
work of the charity.
e) Fund Accountlni
Unrestrirted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees In furtherance of the
general objects of the charlty and which have not been designated for other purposes.
fj Penslons
The charlty pays contributions to stskeholder schemes on behalf of its staff. These contrlbutions
are accounted for in the Statement of Financial Activities when the payments fall due.
