2022

Over the year we have taken in numerous cats and kittens.

Some stay with us only briefly and are found homes quite quickly.

Other more difficult to home animals are given longer term care.

Some undomesticated cats have been given outdoor homes on farms or stables.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

Our aim is; “To Rescue and re home”, “STRAY”, “INJURED”, “SICK” or “UNWANTED” Cats and Kittens.

**“** All” of our volunteers are “unpaid”.

All our adult cats are neutered or spayed and vaccinated, tested for FeLV & FIV and microchipped before homing.

**Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

The trustees acknowledge that a lot of our continued success, especially at the Barton Village Hall Flea Markets is largely due to the help afforded by our various volunteers, without their help it would be very difficult or possibly wouldn’t work at all.

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

The free microchipping is not being over-subscribed, and continues to be well within budget.

We homed a little over fifty cats & kittens in 2022.

We received a significant legacy in 2022, as a consequence the accounts for the year have to be independently examined.

The £10 Snip & Chip campaign that we set up on the back of the significant legacy, is proving to be popular, we have now issued more than 200 vouchers.

We continue to help cats & kittens owned by local people in financial hardship with our Needy Cases fund.

## **Independent examiner’s report to:-**

## **The Trustees of Lancashire Cat Rescue, Registerd Charity No 1136938**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Lancashire Cat Rescue (LCR) for the year ended 31[st] December 2022.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity trustees of LCR you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“The Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of LCR’s accounts carried out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Direction given by the Charity Commission under section 145 (5)(b) of The Act.

## **Independent examiner’s statement.**

I have completed my examination. I can confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

- 1) accounting records were not kept in respect of LCR as required by section 130 of The Act; or

- 2) the accounts do not accord with those records.

I did notice a couple of minor disparities which I notified to the nominal Treasurer and which, upon further examination, were agreed and amended and my report is, therefore, based upon the corrected and amended records subsequently supplied to me.

Following on from a suggestion in a previous examination of the accounts, not carried out by myself, some changes to the frequency of preparation of accounting records were made and such changes are, in my opinion, satisfactory, and have been adhered to since.

Signed
