The trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the unaudited financial statements of the charitable
mpany for the year ended 31 December 2023.
Status
The charitable company is limited by guarantee. having no share capital. Under the provisions of Section 60
of the Companies Act 2006, the Company is enlitltsd lo omit the word "Limited" from its name.
The goveming documents of the charitable company are its Memorandum and Articles of Association.
Oblects and Actlvltles of the Charlty
The relief of poverty, sickness and distress by Ihe provision or assistance in the provision of funds,
goods or serviGes in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as Ihe directors in their absolute
discretion may from time to time decide.,
The preservation and protection of good health by the provision or assistance in the provision of
funds. goods or services in such parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the directors in their
absolute dlscretlon may from time lo lime decide.,
To advance education in such parts of the United Kingdom or the worfd as the directors in their

Activities and Achi8voments for the publlc beneflt
The Trustees have had due regard lo the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit in deciding which
activities that Charity should undertake.
Throughout 2023 Riviera Life ROC Centre continud lo run the following comrnunity projects and groups,.
Parent and toddler group
Youlh group
Community small groups
The Truslees have continued to support Riviera Life Llnk Volunteers. providing pastoral care regularly during
the year via zoom calls and in person meetings.
Riviera Life Link continued its Storehouse Foodbank and Baby Bank within its Community, opening 8 hours
per week. The Storehouse provided essential emergency food parcels lo families and individuals in need. The
Storehouse and Baby Bank has been an instrumental member of the Food Alliance within the ¢ornmunily,
con5151ing of 10 different social actio)n groups working together to meet the need 7 days a week. At ihe
beginning of 2023 new projects were launched- Riviera Life Homeslore providing household items for families
and individuals in need, Riviera Life Food Club- a social supermarket wher8 those who access the food bank
undergo a financial assessment to see whether they can bègin lo contribute towards the food parcels. This is
lo help with budgeting and supporting people off the food bank support. We also trained volunteers lo deliver
benefits advice and launched a Debt ¢entre helping those in Debt acTOSS Torbay. A Job Club was also
launched training and equipping people with skills lo return to work.
The Charity CDntinues lo meet ils goals and objectives and is fully compliant with policAes. pro¢¢dures and
working pr8clices.
Riviera Life Link exists for the relief of poverty, sickness and distress,. thè preservation of good health and lo
advance education for individuals and communities.

Organisational Structure
New trustees are appointed to the board by a majority vote of the existing trustees. This is followed by a
Iruslee induction process.
Reserves

Trustees Responsibillties
The trustees (who are also the directors for the purposes of company lawl are responsible for preparing the
Trustees, Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicabl8 law and United Kingdom
Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
CompBny law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true
and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable ¢omp8ny and of the incoming resources and application
of resources. including the income and expenditUTe, of the charitable company for that period. In preparing
these financial ststemenls, the trustees are required to..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently..

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at
any time the financial position of the charitable company and enable them to ensure that the financial
statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. The trusl8es are also responsible for safeguarding the
assets of the charitable company and hence for taking Teasonable steps for the prevention anc5 detection of
fraud and other irregularities.
This report has been prep8red in accordance with the Charity's Ststement of Recommended Practice.. SORP
IFRS1021 and in accordance with the special provisions of part 16 of the Companies Act 2006 relaling lo
smaller entitses.
In preparing this report, the Truslees h8ve taken advantage of the small companies exemptions provided by
section 415A of the Companies Acl 2006.

December 2023, which are set out on pages 4 to 9.

As the Iruslees of the Charity land also ils directors for the putposes of company lawl you are resrxjnsible for
the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 20061'the 2006
Act'l.
Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the
2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report IN respecl of my examination of your charity's
accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 1.the 2011 Acl'l. In carrying out my
examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charhy Commission under section 145151 (bl of the
2011 A¢1.

The financial slalemenls have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance wlh
Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Stalemenl of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 leffeclive 1 January 20151- (Charitie5 SORP IFRS 10211, the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Companies Act 2006.
The trust meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102.
The functional and presenlalional currency of these financial statements is sterfing.
The trustees consider that there are no material uncertaintios about the Charity's ability to conllnue as a
going concern.

Related Party Transactions
