The charity is constituted as a Trust governed by a Trust Deed

Trustees are appointed by resolution

Section C – Objectives and activities

The objects of the charity are to benefit such organisations and projects that are charitable according to the laws of England and Wales and in particular in the advancement of the Roman Catholic Faith.

The support of organisations and projects that are charitable according to the laws of England and Wales means that by definition the objects of the charity are of benefit to the public.

The Trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit

Section D – Achievements and Performance

Donations to the charity raised £109,344

There were charitable donations of £1,240 the costs of upkeep of the Broughton Chapel added up to £390. The costs of upkeep and plans for the Manse added up to £12,947. There were bank charges of £494.

The Charity has surplus funds of £96,131 to be used in the next period. Any surplus funds are held on deposit to earn interest until required.

Note 1 Basis of preparation

INCOMING RESOURCES
Recognition of incoming These are included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SoFA) when:
resources · the charity becomes entitled to the resources;

Incoming resources with
related expenditure
Where incoming resources have related expenditure (as with fundraising or
contract income) the incoming resources and related expenditure are
reported gross in the SoFA.
Grants and donations Grants and donations are only included in the SoFA when the charity has
unconditional entitlement to the resources.
Tax reclaims on donations Incoming resources from tax reclaims are included in the SoFA at the same

Contractual income and This is only included in the SoFA once the related goods or services have

EXPENDITURE AND LIABILITIES
Liability recognition Liabilities are recognised as soon as there is a legal or constructive
obligation committing the charity to pay out resources.
Grants with performance Where the charity gives a grant with conditions for its payment being a

recognised in the SoFA once the recipient of the grant has provided the
