External Scrutiny Report Syed Khawarzami Welfare Trust Charity Registration Number: 1136645 Reporting Period: l January 2023- 31 December 2023 Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Syed Khawarzami Welfare Trust I have examined the accounts of Syed Khawarzami Welfare Trust for the financial year ending 31 December 2023, as required under the Charities Act 2011. It is my responsibility to report on these accounts in accordance with the charity's governing document and the relevant legal requirements. As the charity's income for the year exceeded £25,000, the Trustees are required to submit their accounts and an external scrutiny report to the Charity Commission. I have carried out an independent examination of the accounts to provide assurance that they are consistent with the underlying records and that they comply with the required legal framework. Respertive Responsibilitles of the Trustees and the Examiner The Trustees, Responsibilities: The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity Statement of Recommended Practice (SORPI, where applicable. The Examiner's Responsibility: My responsibility is to examine the accounts, as described in the terms of the engagement, to ensure that the financial statements comply with the legal requirements and are consistent with the charity's records. This examination does not constitute an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. Basis of Independent Examination My examination was carried out in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Charitv Commission. An examination involves comparing the accounts with the underlying records, checking for consistency with the accounting policies followed, and ensuring the accounts comply with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements. l also consider whether the Trustees, Annual Report is consistent with the accounts.
