Trustees’ Annual Report for the period

From 1[st] January 2023 Period start date To 31[st] December 2023 Period end date

Charity name: Noam Parent Teacher Association

Charity registration number: 1136338

Objectives and Activities

The charity’s main aim is to advance the education of pupils in the Shalom Noam Primary School by providing extra facilities at the school, including, without limitation, educational materials and improved systems. In the past year the Noam Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has bought an entire new playground for the school including climbing frames, rock climbing wall, sensory musical items, ball dropping games, a wooden house and climbing trail blocks for the motor skills and balance development. The PTA also painted sports lines on the grounds and car drop off marking to further enhance the safety of the children at school. The PTA sponsored various educational outings, supported extracurricular learning and supplied treats and prizes for the children and provided additional support to families who parents were unable to provide this themselves. All staff, children and families are treated equally and all benefit from the fundraising and contribution that the Noam PTA made to the school.

The purpose of the charity is to provide the students at Shalom Noam Primary with extracurricular activities, fundraise for school's extra needs and create a relationship between school and parents. The PTA run events and meetings between school and parents, enhancing communication, allowing for feedback and improvements and thereby contributes to the holistic education for the children at Shalom Noam School.

The PTA create a yearly working calendar for the parents and school, look after new parents and any parents from the school community who are struggling, run events to enhance relationships, informative courses and educational sessions for parents, collaborate with staff for the good of the students and provide educational resources and equipment for the school.

The PTA have run events with voluntary contributions donated and have performed various fundraisers for example creating a calendar, making items such as cupcakes, cookbooks, stationary packs etc. The PTA built an interfamily parcel swap scheme as another fundraiser alongside other communal and fundraising events, and a yearly raffle prize winning schemes.

The PTA has provided the school with funds to enhance the wellbeing of staff and parents alike through special catered events, provided funds to the school for tracking the progress of each student attending the school, donated much needed technology such as ipads for the students to benefit from in their IT studies and across their entire curriculum, contributed prizes, funds for school trips across all the year groups, playground facilities, items such as dustbins, benches etc to enhance the smooth running of the school in any area the school see fit.

The PTA allows both staff and parents to feel supported psychologically and financially wherever possible to ensure each child is provided with and receives the best wholesome education it can at Shalom Noam.

The PTA is made up of approximately 8 female volunteers from the parent body of the school, liaising with teacher representatives throughout the term with bi-termly meetings. The PTA has not applied for any grants in the past year. Expenditure in the FYE 2023 exceeded Income due to the large investment made in the new playground and equipment. There are no employees associated with the Noam PTA. The volunteers assist in their own time with the PTA fundraising, community and school activities.

Achievements and Performance

The charity received donations totalling £26,411 during the period FYE 2023. This has made a substantial difference to the running of the Shalom Noam Primary school by enabling them to provide the necessary resources to the entire Shalom Noam school community.
