This Is p￿pIe al all different stagas of lrfe induding those with young thildren and those wlvj may have first come to churth following a personal bereavement. It is espeL7ally nice to he￿ that a few of the 'n&rf people attending worship have commented that the welcome they rewved ￿en first atteTrJing churth was one of the main things which made them want lo relum- keep up the good wotk! Over the last year. we also saw 4 youro people and 2 adults make a public Ix)nfession of their faith at our Confim)alion Service, whith is ￿Other reason for great ￿lebratIon1 Encouragements for our Church at thg national level indude appoinbnent of our new Archbishop of Canletbury, Dame Sarah Mullally. As I mentioned in my intrOducb￿ to the annual rEPOrt last year. this was just the lype of courageous appointment many of us had h)ped and prayed foi, as il was essents.al that people In communrties were shown that the Churd) of England was serious about dealing wrth some of the archaic structures and practs'ces ￿lch have held the thurch bad( for many years. I know that Ihis appointment W711 bnThJ with Il new challenges whith Y￿11 have to be worked through with love and ￿e to all those wthin the Anglican o)mmunion who quests.on the appointment of a woman to the highest F•)SrtM)n in the Church. but I do feel that it shows courage and the dear desire to move the Churth forward in a positive way. One of the challenges for us as a fellowship o)ntsnues to be finanw and, desprte Ihe positive response lo our St8wardship Campaign In 2￿24. we were still not ab]e lo pay our full Parish Share to the Diocese In 2025. W8 had meetings wth the Diocese where we explained some of the reasons for the struggles we are having, as well as letting them know something of the continuing vision and mission of the church. They were SUPFthive about the thirKJs we have already d(￿e in terms of increasing ¢)ur Income and the fact that we have cyjntinued to 'look OU￿￿rds, in mission. drawing new people into the fellowship. Altho￿h this may not have a large. immediate, effect on the finances growing the stze of our Ix)ngwJation wll urKloubleoly improve our finan￿S in the future as many of these now people grow in personal faith and commitment. Following our me￿Ings Wlth the DI￿Se we have togethw agreed to implement '3-year plan, whith wll hefp us lo buikj up some churcli reserves whilst also paying a redu{￿ amount to the Diocese. The aim is that we wll continue to improve our regular income year-On-Y￿ so Ihat, by th8 of next 3 years, we will be able to pay our Parish Share in full and also be In a rmre finanaally seojre posf(ion. Please (x)ntinue to refiect on how you can b8St support this target both through regular giving to the thurch and also by considering things like making a keque51 to the thurch in yOLf Will. I mysetf am always available to talk wrth people on any aspects of giving as are the Wardens, Ojwen & Les and our Treasurer. Dav￿. As I mentioned in my introduction last year, we ar8 now in the final year of the Di0￿san Vision 2026 campaign and. as part of thaL we are hawng a Di￿San-￿de weekend of mission ath"vities. We are euffenlly in the process of planr¥ing some eutreach events kf the weekend of 12113th September, which will include a Heritage Day in the church builth.ng arKI an opeTrair event with worship, games and activiknes for everyone. As well as our Confirmation Course. which wll be starting at the ervj of May, we are also intending lo have a Disapleship Course starttng after our Mission Weekend in September.
