No one in the Waterside should have to Èndure food or fuel poverty. The Charity collects and redistributes donated food by way of an Emergency Food Parcel {EFP) that provides three days of nutritionally balanced food. EFP'S aré is$u8d by way of an on-line voucher system managéd by thè Trussell Trust. To increase tranaparency, the charity changed its name in Nov 24 from the Waterside Ecumenical Projects to Waterside Foodbank. The charity is part of the nationwide nehvork of food banks using the Trussell Trust managed E_voucher System. to combat food povorty and hunger throughout the UK. Tha Watarside Fo¢)dbank has some 40 linked agenciés issuing E_VouGhers through this system. Funded through donations received, Waterside provide fresh vegetablo, egg8 and bread with every EFP. Follow Up support.. Signposting clients to further help 18 extremely Important and the charity ha8 follow-up contact with recipients of EFP to assist with information on further support such as Fair8hare larders. Th6 New Forest CAB manage a Financial Inclusion Officer (funded by the Trussell Trust) to work with the foodbank's clients (based in the foodbank part-time) to ensure they are claiming their full benefits and to assist in Signposting to further support. The charity is also linked to Wtth the Fuelbank Foundation for the provision of fuel VOUGhers. In thc financial year 2024 25 204 Fuel Voucher5 were issued 194 were redeemed, the balance (10) was cancelled or expired (5%}. Para 1.20 The Water51de Foodbank, successfullv completed its If year of partnerghlp with the Trussell Trust and through Its on-line referral servlce, provlded 1,504 emergency food parcels supporting 2,466 adults and 1,711 children. The foodbank has received 38,310kg of food from donations & purchases from support from local supermarkets, churches. schools. businesses and Individua15 and 40,660kg has been distributed, the equivalent of providlng around 97,177 meals. The shortfall between donated & distributed food has been made up with food purchases funded by cash donations. At Christmas, through the support of local a charity (Dibden Local Allotments) and a Winter Collettion at a local supermarket, clients for Emergency Food Parcels have also received Christmas Parcels and Tesco Gift Vouchers for the purchase of Christmas meal ingredients. The Waterside Foodbank now host5 a part-time Financial Inclusion Office (managed by CAB & funded by the Trussell Trust). Clients are si8nposted to them for a voluntary ￿VIeW of finances. and a budget has been provided to support clients at their discretion of which £1,912 was Spent in this financial year. The Waterslde Foodbank has continued to be active with local community groups working to alleviate poverty and need in the New Forest. Thi5 has included the New Forest Cost of Livlng alleviation Steering group, New Forest Partnership Committee and Southampton Foodbank Network. Volunteers." Total reserves for the ear are £231.610. The reserves are to be used for the Gontinued provision of food & fuel vouchers to support families in povety or Crises in the New Forest watersidé aréa.
