BRYNTEG VILLAGE CHURCH 1136246 TRUSTEES REPORT 2022
We are thankful to God that gradually our church, like others, are slowly returning to normality following Covid. The members have been very careful to follow all guidelines carefully in regards to meeting again. We were given some screens which we were able to put between the pulpit and the congregation, so that preachers did not have to wear visors.
With Covid we learnt to use Zoom, and are continuing to have midweek prayer meetings and Bible studies solely on Zoom, but Sunday Services are held in the building but also on Zoom. This is likely to continue for some time. The Pastor also uses Zoom for 1 to 1 studies.
Prior to Covid we were greatly encouraged by the number of visitors we had to outreach meals. We have now restarted these meals, and for our first one we had Billy McCurrie, an ex terrorist in N.Ireland, now a Pastor near Ormskirk, and were encouraged by a good response locally.
We were very sad to say farewell in the autumn to Larry and Dixie as they retired and returned to the USA. They have been such a help in the work of the church, and Dixie’s help in preparing meals was invaluable. We are also extremely grateful for their generous gift of £15,000 to church funds, both to enable the church to continue, and to help us in our outreach. They will be sorely missed. We are very conscious of the responsibility now placed upon us to achieve the goals of maintaining the presence of the church in the community, and in outreach.
The Trustees are very grateful to Brian Worthington, Secretary of Borras Park Evangelical Church, for his work in checking our accounts for 2022 - these accounts are now with the Charities Commission. These accounts had been accepted at our Members Meeting of 22.02.23.
We look to the Lord to be with us in the future, to help us in our ministry here in Brynteg, and to build his church. To God alone be the glory.
