Plans for Future Periods
Kushti Bok Dorset remains an essential resource for the county’s Travelling communities, local councils, and partner organisations. To meet increasing demand, we are expanding our capacity. Recent National Lottery funding has enabled us to establish an office and employ additional Advocacy Workers, strengthening our partnership with Citizens Advice Central Dorset and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Citizens Advice Bureau. We have also recruited staff for administration and finance roles, enhancing our organisational infrastructure.
Funding has been secured to deliver a conference aimed at encouraging other organisations to partner with their local Citizens Advice Bureaux and to showcase Kushti Bok’s successful work to our partners. We will continue to tour local events and festivals with our presentation, maintaining visibility and engagement with the communities we serve.
Preparations are underway for the 2026 Roma Holocaust Service, including securing a suitable venue and relevant speakers. Planning will also begin for Roma History Day 2026 in Borough Gardens, Dorchester.
Kushti Bok will continue to deliver the DCF and CAN projects, supporting local communities with mental health, cost-of-living, and welfare issues.
We also intend to work closely with partner organisations on issues affecting Council site residents, including their rights and improving living conditions. Initial groundwork for this project was established during Law training delivered by Gate Herts, where Kushti Bok and other delegates agreed on the importance of pursuing this work collaboratively.
