cannot be differenlialed. The Church Council has the responsibility of co-operating with (he IncuTibenl, Revc. Lyiin
Broadhead, In promoting the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelical, $o¢ial and ecLJmeiiii:al In the |JJris

The Church Council remains commilled lo enabling as many people as possible lo worship al Ile Churcy 311C

The Church Council deals with and considers a variety of areas of risk lo which the church niay be expo8ed.
Such areas include Health and Safely issues, Disability Discrimination Act Issues. Creating a S8lor Spdce.
Employment Law issues, Financial Controls and Insurance The Church Council has underltiken a revivw ol
risks lo which il Is exposed and systems and procedures have been established lo manage Ihiisv risk% VQhe'e
il is fell appropriate, action has been taken lo miligale risk. Records ol the use of pholocopivs, l¢lrgp prinl
hymns, projection5 and recordings are submilled annually lor copyright purpose8.

Our Facebook page continues lo grow and reach an ever-growing wider audience and is linkijd lo the T'NIIIGir

This year we have w8lcomed new ordained members of staff. In July Revd. Geraldine Pearce was
licensed as curate Isell-supporling mlnislerl, Revd. Geraldine will be working across two churches durinq hLJr
training with Revd Lynn as her Training Incumbent. In October Revd Neil Elsom was licensed as Associate
Priest (Sell Supporting Minislerl this is a part lime post, We a150 had the pleasure of seeing Donna Cro<)ke4
Ilcensed as our new Focal Minister Ilay minislryl.
Worshlp and Prayor
Over the past year since all reslriclions were removed, we have moved back lo a regular pallern ol sel worship
We have reviewed and refreshed our services,. Sunday mornings are Eucharistic with the 4th Sunday ainiod al
families. There are a150 on the 1 èl and 3rd Sunday ol each month an evening service. There Is also d w'eekly
Monday morning prayer, The Sunday service continues lo be recorded and delivered lo the house bourid
alongside a paper copy.
Church Attendance
In 2022 the number of people on the Church Electoral Roll was 68, allhoLJgh this is lower, we lef:1 this aecuralply
reflects the worshipping community. After a slow slarl ol recovery from the covid pandemic we are iiow
welcoming new people and numbers are returning lo pre covid levels.
Remembrance Sunday was well allended On Remembrance Day, the local school sent the whi)le ol Yeai 2
plus the school council lo allend the Service al the war memorial. Over a 100 children and adults wL)re in
allendance.

Christmas services were all well allended with the Carol service and Chrislingle service allracling hi(Ih
numbers. The Midnight Christmas Eve and Christmas day service were both well attencled. We had Ir
allendance over these Special services a lolal of 460 adults and children.
Occasional offices there were 23 Baptisms, 4 weddings. Revd 8roadhead officiated al 18 -Ln¢yra.s ai Iloly
Trinity Church logelher with other committals al the local Crematoria.
Prayer continues lo be an important part of our worship. A quarterly prayer calendar Is sent out lo all Dli our
mailing list and prayers are said al the Morning Prayer on a Monday morning.
There are 2 bible study groups which meet fortnighlly

Mission is ongoing in the form of holding events lo bring people Into church activities and Ili(.. conlinualian DI
our befriending and welcoming style. The Church continued lo support two charities with rp.gular Innnll ily
donations and with a variety of sponsored aclivilies.. these are Rolherham Foodbank a local char.ly r?iid
ChilclAid lo Eastern Europe. Not only do we support in monetary giving bul in the case ol Ir,e FoodbÉ)Iik l'ie
also encourage the local community lo support this. The community always reaGlive pu511ively lo th s (iiid vje
end up with several car loads ol donated food being taken lo the foodbank.
8apllsm services are allended by the Youth Minister. A baptism preparation evening is held nionlhly loi. Iho£e
bringing their child for baptism. We continue lo send anniversary cards for the first 3 years.
Members of our congregation continued lo support the Shoèbox appeal.
Communlty Llnk8 & Relatlon8hlp8
Our welcoming strategy before services is now well established and we continue lo update hy train 11(1 arid
encouraging church members that we are all welcome. To all new visitors a Welcome leallel i.) 3iven. Ivf,.
have a leaflet on the history of the church, which again is available lo all visitors. This also InciudÉ'.s ¢1 Ire.4qure
trail map for chilclren.
The Village Show was w811 allended, with numbers again increasing lo previou5 years and wily lols ul pc,silive
feedback.
The Christma5 Ire8 leslival thi5 year went ahead lor the first time in 3 years and where the chuich was Iill(.,d
with Christmas trees, decorated by community groups. There was a large tree outside with the nativity kn?ceiie
and there was a Memory tree in the enlfance lo the church lor those who wished lo place a name on 11)u IrLie
in memory ol someone who has died recèntly. The festival and Christmas market was again v13ry s(Icccssful,
bringing high numbers from the community onto the sile.
We also held a Jubilee special in May.

Deanery in our practical support and financial support of their work.
Cornerstone Mlssion
The parish ol Thorpe Hesley & Scholes is now parl of the Cornerstone Mission Area. Revd LyDn Bri)aiheail.
alongside her role al Thorpe Hesley. is now Priest in Charge ol Kimberworth and Kimberworlli Park Sh.. will
be one of two Oversight Minister in the Mi5510n Area.
Church Bulldlng
Kfjoping the Church in a good slate of repair is ol the ulmosl importance. after a recent quinqbennial rg.port,
sever41 repairs were highlighted. Funding was sort and we were awarded a grant from All Churches 'fru51. this
has meant repairs that were highlighted can all be done and were completed early in 2022. a well d5 the
replacement carpel in the knave and sanctuary area. The sound system was also updalèd in 2022.

Trinity Community Centre ITCCI
The comrnunity centre has recovered well since il fully re-opened. We have a busier schedulp. and 4Ne have
a number ol new users.
Churchyard
The Churchyard is an important part of our sile and parl of the Thorpe Hesley Conservation a.'o3. we do odi
best lo maintain this space keeping a balance between the neat and tidy environment th31 n)31y WIIL lttiid
graves appreciate and an area that is sel aside where lon9 grass is allowed lo grow lo eii(,ouiagi: I1)4￿}eCIs,
birds and animals into this space. It was however decided lo apply lo close the church yarcl lo new L)urialo Iir
grounds of human decency due lo the ground becoming walerlogg8d and so unlit lor burials. Ali aoplii-ali(I
was mad8 lo the Ministry of Justice early in 2022 to close the churchyard This was granted in SeplE ITIb,.
2022. The upkeep ol the church yard now falls ID Rolherham Borough Council.
FlnancSal Revlew
Income has recovered well through 2022 and is slightly higher than 2021. This is wilhoul th(! support i). aiiy
grant funding as had been received in 2020 and 2021 and rell&cls the sell-5ulliciency we hilVLJ nianaged Ic
regain since the pandemic. We thank our donors in church, advertisers in Gr<ipevine iill(I iJr,ers (Il Ilic
Community Centre for their continued support. Fundraising 8clivilies have returned lo norrnal levcl:,
support by the local community has boen greater than ever resulting in the J ubilee evenl ar,g Ike I'hri%linilS
Market being highly successful in raising funds Users in TCC have also returned lo no'rr,21 wtriii'.li h,.15

depleted the reserves, Grants were obtained from National Churches Trust and Lisl8d PlaLI.'s ol Wurship lo
contribute lo the church building works.

Our policy is lo hold 6 months expenditure as reserves. This equates lo approximately f 65,oon arid vie
Currently hold just under £16,000 in all fund5 (excluding fixed asselsl. Whilst this is well below our s1¢41ed polic.y
we are confident we will continue lo meet all exp&nditurg and, with the expectation there will l)Ls r,0 sigii,,IILJnl
works required in 2023, we will bo able lo rebuild the reserv85 with the aim lo ultimately relLirr, lo previoiis
levels, sufficient lo provide stability to operate wilhoul Concern.
Voluntoors
The Church Council is very grateful lor the support il receives from volunteers. So many people give up Ihf!Ir
lime lo work hard lo make the Church accessible lo the community and run smoothly. Our Ctrurch could not
do what we do wilhoul such support.
Structure, Govgrnance and Management

spent. Members of the Church Council are eilhgr ox olficio or elected al the Annual Chur-h Meetin4 arid
