The trustees present thelr report wth the financial statemerrts of the charity for the year ended 31 January 2024. The
trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reportin9 by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice
appllcable to chariti•s preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial ReportÈng Standard applicable in the
UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTMTIES

The objedive of the charity is the promotion of community particlpatlon in healthy recreation in Wiltshire.
Publlc benefft
The trustees have paid duè regard to the Charity Commission's guidan￿ on pU￿1C benefit in deciding what activities Ihe
charity should undertake. The trustees cx)nsider that they have acted in the public benefit.
Grantmaking
The Charitable Irusts achieves its objectives by the provision of grants and donations to community club5 and
organisations providing facilities and opportunities for the playing of sporL
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
Charitablo activitios
Ben East - Javelin - Ben has had another fantastic season. He has moved up to the U23 age group and now compete5
with seniors on a regional, national and international stag8. In June, he won the U23 English Championships in
Chelmsford wth a new personal best throw of 74,03m. Then. in July. he won the British Senior Javelin Championships
in Manchester, wth a throw of 72.97m, aged just 19. He dominated the competition. leading from the very first throw. In
August. he went to Poland to compete in a lower tier of the Diamond League for the first time. finishing fifth,. an amazing
exparlence for him. Ben is still a member of Team Kennet. based In Greenham. Newbury - coached by Luke Angell at
Team Kennet and Dave Tumer at Loughborough. He also still holds the U15 UK Javelin record. All of this during his
second year of a Mechanical Engineering Degree at LoughborcAJgh.
Arabella Sear Watkins - Figure Skaung - Arabella ha3 had an excitiThJ year developing her figure skating Career. In
January Arabella was selected to represent Great Britain at Ihe European Winler Youth Olympics in Ilaly, which was an
amazing opportunity and experience for her. On top of this wonderful achievement, Arabella was selected by Team GB
to be thg opening ceremony flag bearer which was a huge honour for har! This summer. Arabella was invited to train at
Ihe ISU Iworld goveming body for skating) Centre of exc8llence in the GemianlAustrian mountalns, a wonderful
opportunity for her to train at this intemational elite ￿￿tre. In November, she represented GBR at the Junior
Intemalionals in Bulgaria. and eatlier this year qualrfied for her first Senior 8rilish Championships in Decemb8rl She will
be the youngest senior lady by 4 year5. "She's over the rnoon io be skating al the very top level of figure skating. and
very much looking forward to this wonderful opportunity to skate with the best in the UK, and lo gain experience at this
level for her futur8 development..
Ellie Gudgeon - Karate Ellie has had a busy year, attending several (x)mp&titions in Turkey. Gr8ece. Egypt. Cyprus and
Portugal to name a fewl She is now ranked 57th in lh8 WOTld and is aiming for the top 50 by the and of 2023. Looking lo
2024, Ellie is hoping to compete in the European Championships and Commonwealth Championships, and snter the
top 32 - go Elliel
GB U17s Waler Polo Team - This group of hard-wDrking and talented young athletes have spent the last 2 years in the
GB Talent Programme arKJ qualifi8d for the European Championships in Turf(ey at the end of July. Although Swim
England offars as much support as it can. unfortunately water polo is largety self-funded and the girls. families bear the
majority of the financial burden. The tolal cost of competing in the European Championships is in the region of £35,000
and the girls ran a hugely successful GoFundMe campaign so that everyone ill the squad was able to travel to Turkey to
represent Great Britain regardless of their own financ￿1 situation. Chartie's Charity are tKoud to have baén able to
contribute to them achiewng their goall
Hungerford Town Youth FC Charlie's Charity donat8d some new state of the art goals for Ihe junior teams. 'IV5 such a
wonderful and lo'nd gesture and we canl thank you enough."
Burbage and Easton Royal Cricket Club - Earfier this year. Charlie¥ Charity helpad our local cricket club get some new
practice equipmenl, which Mrill improve facilities at the club hugely. Vhanks to all involved at the charity. This wll mak8
a big drfferen￿ to all al the dub.
Fundraising activities
Charlie's Charity are delighted that Rick Stein MaTlborough are continuing to make a 50p donation from evory salè of
their Marlborough 42 cocktail!
Our Night Circus fundraising Ball in Martborough was well attended again and raised £9,5W!!

The free reserves of the chaiity at the 31 January 2024 were £18,428 and these will be used for projects identified by

Basls of preparln9 the financlal statements
The financial statemants of the chaiity. which is a publ￿ beneffit entity under FRS 102. have been prepared in
accordance with tha Charities SORP IFRS 102) 'A¢¢ounting and Reporting by Charities: Slatemenl of
Recommended Prdctice applicable to charities preparing thelr accounts in accordan￿ with the Financial
Reporting Slandard applicable in the UK and Republlc of Ireland {FRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019).,
Fin8ncio1 Reporting Standard 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland, and the Chartties Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost
convention.
The finan￿al statements have been p￿pa￿d to gve a 'true and fairf view have departed from the Charfiles
{Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 onty to the extent required to prowde a Iruè and fair VI8￿. This
departure has involved following the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statemènt of R6commended
Practice appSicablÈ lo charities preparing their accounts in accordan￿ with the Financial Repor*ng Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014 rather than the A¢¢ounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Stalement of Recommended Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been
withdrawn.
The financial statements are prepared on 8 going concern basis. under the historical cost convention. modrfied
to Indude certain items at fair value. The financial siatements are prepared in slerfirjg whic* is the funotional
currency of the charity and rounded lo the nearest pound.
There are no significant areas of judgements or key sources of estimation uncertainty.
The trustees conslder that there are no material uncertainti8s about the ChariV8 ability to continue as a going
con￿M.
The charity is an unincorporated trust constituted by a trust deed.

All income is reoognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charEty has entitlement to the funds, it
is probable that the income will be received and the arTh)unt can be measured reliably.
Interest on funds held on deposit is included vthen receÈYable and the amount be measured reliably by the
charty, this Is nomially upon notification of the Interest paid or payable by the bank.
Expendiluro
Liabilitles are recognis8d as expendÉture as as Ihere is a legal or o)nstructtve obligation cornmttting the
¢harfty to that expenditure. it is probable that a transfrr of economic benefits will be required in settlement and
the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and
has been dassified under headings that aggregate all cost relat8d to Ihe category. Where costs cannot be
directty attribuied to partlcular headings they havè bèen allocated to aclivities on a basis consistent wth the use
of resources.
Grants off8red subject to conditions wthich have not been met at the year end date are noted as a commitment
but not accrued as expendtlure.
Stocks
Stocks are valued at the loV￿r of c#)st and net realisable fdlue. after making due allO￿nCe for obsolete and
slow mowng items.
Taxation
The charity is exempt from on tts charilable activities.
Fund ac¢ounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in ac¢ordance with the charitable objecliv8s at the discretlon of the trustees.
Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions
arlse vthen specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.

Creditors and provisions are recognised where the charity has a present obligation resulting from a past event

after allowtng for any trade discounts due.
Financial instruments
The chaiity only has financial assels and financial liabiltlies of a kind that qualify a8 basic financial in8lNments.
