Trustee Report for year ending 31[st] May 2024
Objects of the Brandon Church of Christ
To advance the Christian faith in the United Kingdom and Third world countries for the benefit of the public through the holding of worship services, prayer meetings and Bible Studies to enlighten others about the Christian Religion.
Finance:
This year saw the conclusion of major expenditure of both the main auditorium and the church cottage next door. In total we spent £22,949 on the infrastructure of the buildings.
Our excess of expenditure over income is not considered an issue as donations had been increasing to ensure we had sufficient monies to carry out the planned work required to meet all of the identified issues of the buildings.
Our balance carried forward of £45,816 is considered healthy by the Trustees.
Church Activities:
We continue to have Sunday morning worship attendance of 35 plus children. This meeting is available to members on Zoom.
Our Sunday morning service is open to the public and we have occasional attendees from the surrounding community. We will continue to welcome visitors to our meetings.
Our fortnightly Tuesday evening ladies Bible Study is well attended as is our weekly Bible study on a Wednesday evening. These studies take place on Zoom.
We have provided benevolence to various individual according to their identified needs.
Fellowship activities involve a BBQ or Fellowship lunch at the church building monthly.
The Church continues to support 6 Ukrainian Refugees living in the church cottage, both financially and emotionally.
Buildings:
Following a meeting of the congregation the following work was considered essential to ensure the safety of attendees at the building,
Compliant EIRC report: Resulting is completion of remedial work required.
Fire survey by Suffolk Fire Department: Resulting in new alarm system, new fire extinguishers, fire doors installed to upper rooms. Review and implementation of new procedures for evacuation procedures.
Building Heating: Replacement of 48-year-old boiler with new modern boiler.
Children Safety: Installation of gates to main road.
Cottage Roof: Removal of leaking chimney to stop water leakage.

To whom it may concern -
I am able to confirm that, having looked over the accounts for the Brandon Church of Christ, that I find them to be wholly consistent with the records and receipts presented to me. I therefore believe that they represent a true and accurate record of the financial position of the Brandon Church of Christ in March 2025 including its income and expenditure over the previous year (1/06/2023 to 31/5/2024). I am an independent verifier with no connection to the Church of Christ, either the Brandon parish or the wider organisation.
