## **Brandon Church of Christ Trustee Report for period June 2022-May 2023**

## **Finance**

Expenditure exceeded income by £10188. Major expenses in the year were spent on the purchase of an overhead projector to improve the worship experience, together with the cost associated with a nationwide ladies praise meeting.

We provided £2800 benevolence due to covid pandemic.

Income remains at an acceptable level, reflective of the congregation’s desire to aid Ukrainian refugees as well as planning for upgrade of classrooms and the installation of a new boiler in the summer months.

We had increased reserves of £56,368 at the end of the period.

The church owns under Trust the unincumbered church building and next door three bedroomed cottage. These properties are valued more than £400000.

No Trustees received any payments or benefits from the charity.

## **Serious Incidents**

There were no serious incidents in the period.

## **Worship Services:**

No amendment were made to worship services, we continued with Sunday Morning Bible study followed by Lords table service. Attendance numbers are 30 +.

We continue to broadcast our Sunday services on Zoom, this facility is useful for students away at university and members who are unable to attend in person due to illness or holiday. Typical numbers on Zoom are 6 to 8 persons.

Wednesday bible study continued io Zoom, with numbers of 12 to 15 regularly attending.

We provided a portion £4,950 of travel and accommodation expenses for visiting preachers.

## **Buildings**

It is likely that the heating system in the church will need to be updated in the next 24 months.

All of the upstairs rooms in the building are now being used for classes on a Lords Day morning.

## **General.**

No amendments were made to Building Trustee or authorised signatories.

To whom it may concern -

I am able to confirm that, having looked over the accounts for the Brandon Church of Christ, that I find them to be wholly consistent with the records and receipts presented to me. I therefore believe that they represent a true and accurate record of the financial position of the Brandon Church of Christ in May 2023, including its income and expenditure over the previous year (1/06/2022 to 31/5/2023). I am an independent verifier with no connection to the Church of Christ, either the Brandon parish or the wider organisation.
