Brandon Church of Christ Trustee Report for period June 2020-May 2021
Finance
Due to the Pandemic we utilised alternative method for church donations, namely direct payment to church bank account and the Virgin Money online giving site. We avoided wherever possible collection donations in cash at our meetings. This did not substantially affect our overall contributions levels.
During the period we provide benevolence to church members who had been affected by employment restrictions as a result of Covid.
We purchased a lap- top and webcam to allow our vulnerable members to attend services remotely via Zoom.
The income from all fundraising and donations and gift aid was £25,078, no income was received from overseas or by way of Government Grant.
Our income exceeded our expenditure by £4875.
We had sufficient reserves of £49,920 at the end of the period.
The church owns under Trust the unencumbered Church Building and adjacent three bedroomed house. These properties are valued in excess of £400,000.
No Trustees received any payment or benefits for services from the charity.
Serious Incidents
There were no serious incidents in the period.
Worship Services
We applied all government guideline to the Lords Day worship and restricted the numbers to ensure social distancing applied. The worship service was available on Zoom, with numbers of 12 to 15 individuals attending remotely. We discontinued the Sunday morning Bible study. For much of the period under review we did not meet in the church building due to Government guidelines.
Our Wednesday evening Bible study was available on Zoom and was well attended.
We had no visiting speakers during the period.
Buildings
The cottage was not occupied during the period and the church building was closed for the majority of the period. Meetings re-commenced in May 21 in the building. Counselling sessions stopped in this period.
It is likely in the next few years that some refurbishment of the church building will be required.
Outreach
There was limited opportunity for outreach, with limited response to our advertised Zoom bible study from interested non members.
