## **Chair’s Report - 2024**

**Charity Number: 1135775**

The priority focus for 2023-24 has been undertaking the building development project for the village hall to deliver a new accessible toilet block, new kitchen, new storage space: the objective has been to enhance the hall as an asset for the village, ensuring the S106 money is spent in line with the conditions it was gifted, raising additional money for the costs of developing the toilet block and kitchen, sourcing appropriate trades. The Trustees and management committee wanted to ensure good community engagement in this project throughout.

Other highlight activities:

- The Village Hall Café has developed to be the Hall’s main fundraising asset – low resource activity that delivers a good return for the Hall and engages the community.

- Small works in the garden: overhead cable was removed and re-sited underground, with the garden partially levelled and paving relayed.

- Engagement with the Church House Fund to support the project and renew the 25-year lease for the Village Hall.

Summary, Chairman’s Report, July 2024.

The Hall is booked for a number of leisure/recreational activities and classes as well as for private and community events. The charity has a number of policies in place including a robust safeguarding procedure. All trustees give their time voluntarily and received no remuneration or other benefits.

## Objectives and Activities

The purpose of the charity is to ensure that Worminghall Village Hall is used by the inhabitants of the Parish of Worminghall in Buckinghamshire without distinction of political, religious, or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures, and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants of Worminghall.

## Financial Statements for 2024

3

These accounts have been prepared under the basis of receipts and payments.

In 2024, the hall was upgraded. This meant that receipts and expenditure for 2024 were unusually high. This is a one off project and the Trustees expect the accounts to return to normal levels in 2025
