The principal purpose of the Church is the advancement of the Chris�an faith according to the principles of the Bap�st denomina�on. The Church may also advance educa�on and carry out other charitable purposes in the United Kingdom and/or other parts of the world.
To speak boldly – We have a responsibility to share the good news of Jesus with the community around us.
To worship wholeheartedly – We were created and re-created to worship God and to praise Him in all circumstances.
To grow spiritually – Being a Chris�an means we don’t stand s�ll but go on a journey during which we learn and grow.

The trustees, in making decisions about the ac�vi�es and in the running of the church, have had due regard to the commission’s public benefit guidance. The aims of the church are met through a wide variety of ac�vi�es for the public benefit, a summary of which is shown below. Ac�vi�es are open to members of the public, with par�cular reference to those in the local community and, although they flow from the faith and beliefs of the membership, are open to people of all faiths or none. The church is totally dependent on the work and contribu�ons made by a large number of volunteers, without whom we could not func�on; however, much of its work is undertaken by the paid staff.

Summary of the Various Areas of Church Life
WORSHIP, PRAYER AND STUDY: As a church, worship is obviously a central aspect of our ac�vi�es. We meet for worship regularly on Sundays from 10.30am. In 2023 we have seen an increase in the number of people accessing our YouTube channel.
The Pastoral Team has done its best to support members of our church and the church community.
It is the responsibility of every church member to care for and look out for others in the congrega�on, and we are grateful for the help of the many church members who take this responsibility seriously.
We look at the membership list annually and try to contact those who have not a�ended recently, urgent prayer requests are sent (with permission) by email or by phone to church members.
Throughout 2023 we have held a monthly Sunday a�ernoon tea for older people. This has been well received by the local community.
MISSION & EVANGELISM: The church seeks to engage with the local community and the wider world both financially and prac�cally by, for example, giving regularly to a range of chari�es and suppor�ng church members’ involvement in charity work. We also con�nued to support a small number of missionaries who are sta�oned in difficult and o�en dangerous places overseas.
JUBILATTE COFFEE SHOP: has fully reopened and con�nues to be a mee�ng place for community groups and individuals who value the peace and beauty of the church sanctuary.

educa�on to children aged 2 to 4 years of age. We are fortunate to have well qualified and mo�vated staff. The school has grown in numbers over 2023.
FOODBANK: The Foodbank con�nues to be open on Wednesdays with local agencies referring people in need to us. We have seen an increase in the number of people seeking food parcels through the year. We have been grateful for the support of the church, local supermarkets, and government agencies over the year.

YOUTH WORK: We run a number of weekly groups for children of all ages. We ran a summer holiday club for primary age children which was well a�ended.
LETTINGS: The church has an extensive property, parts of which are available for hire by community groups.
The church also owns three houses which are let and thereby provide a regular and significant source of income.
## Overview of 2023
2023 has been an excellent year for the church with growing a�endances at most, if not all, of our ac�vi�es.
However, 2023 has been a very challenging year for the church with the rise of u�lity prices. We realised we could not con�nue to heat the building as we had in previous years, so we have invested in various improvements.

This means we have reduced our gas use by about 80 percent which gets the church closer to being net zero, something we would like to achieve.
We have been grateful for various grants that we have received for this work, but it has been a big expense. However, we hope it will enable our halls to con�nue to be a resource for our community on into the future.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity {'the Trust.) for the year ended 31112 12023
Responslbilities and
basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
rthe ACV).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trusys arKounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in Carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Dir8Ctions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145{5)(b) of the Act.
Indepondent I have completed my examination. I confimi that no material matters have
examiner's ¥tstement come to my atténtion in connection with the examination (other than that
disclosed below") which gives me cause to believe that in, any material
respect..
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130
of the Charities Act; or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records,. or
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements
conceming the fom and content of accounts set out in the Charities
(Accounts and Repotts) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement
that the accounts give a Irue and fairf view which is not a matter
considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in connection
with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in
order to enable a proper understsnding of the accounts to be reached.
