## **Ministers’ Report for 2022**

2022 was a positive year in the life of Heath End Wesleyan Reform Church, the first ‘normal’ year after Covid. Our Sunday services continued to be well attended with new members of the congregation joining throughout the year. A new format evening service was started during the year. The congregation is small but enthusiastic and appreciates the different style of teaching and worship offered. We accepted the resignations of six church members (2 cannot attend evening meetings any longer, 2 have moved away from Nuneaton, and 2 are worshipping elsewhere). We welcome 2 new people into membership of the church. Our membership numbers have decreased from 20 to 26 over the year. Of the 6 resignations, 4 were also trustees and so also resigned their trusteeship, bringing that from 13 to 9.

There have been no major expenses for the church or manse this year. Both the church and the manse, the properties belonging to the church, have been well maintained. We have made progress on reviewing the church’s trust documentation in preparation for becoming a CIO in the future. We have appointed Edward Connor Solicitors to support us with this.

The usual ministries of the church have continued to be offered. These include: Coffee & Chat coffee morning; J Team children’s group; Ladies Bible Study; Toddler Group; Keep Fit, fortnightly Friendship Group and film club for retired people; church walks; Sunday Club. Many volunteer hours are dedicated to running these activities which the church is very grateful for.

New and one-off activities of the church have included: Lent Group; special Easter services; Quiz Night; Saints Staycation; Fire Station Open Day; WRU Presidential visit; Carols Round The Tree and other Christmas services; 4 Messy Churches.

The Ministers have been involved in further activities including: assemblies, lessons, other supportive roles and governorship at Croft and Glendale schools; collecting for Nuneaton Food Bank; praying and working with other ministers from churches around the town; attending WRU conferences and meetings and ministering at Union churches; taking funerals; special toddler group for fostered and adopted children; post-covid support in the community; Remembrance Sunday Parade.
