Responslbilties and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5){b) of the Act. The main activity of La Marelle is French lessons. As stated in the charity's governing document, this is primarily aimed at children from a French speaking background. However, children whose French is poor or non-existent have been able to join La MalIe since 2010, as the charity wanted to open its doors to all families within the local communitles with ties to French-speaking countries in Europe, Africa and Asia. The school is still located in Dartford; the charlty rents classrooms at a normal rate in a secondary school and the dasses run every Saturday morning during school terrns. This benefits children living in North-west Kent, South East London and Essex due to its easily accessibl8 location. All chIldn are welcome provided they can follow the activities. Section D Achievements and performance Children come to La Marelle mainly through recommendation. The school's website and its social media platforms also attracts new families to La Marelle. Summary of the main achievements of the charlty during the year La Marelle has senl handmade Christmas cards to care home residents in France; this was the fourth consecutive year. Again, the children enjoyed the making and writing of the Cards and they were well received by the recipients. La Marelle again coordinated this initiative for all the 47 participating FLAM schools from around the world. The school's management team continues to bring improvements to La Marelle, and processes continue to be refined. The management and the teaching teams are always encouraged to attend relevant trainlng seminars. TAR March 2012
