Holy Trlnity PCC works In co-operation wtth the Incumbent in promotingthe pastoral. evangelistlc, soc￿1
and ecumenic31 mlsslon of the Church. The Parlsh has been in interresnum since 2 March 2026, and
has been led by the Churchwardens, assisted by our Associate Priests and other clergy In the DI0￿Se
with PTO. There Is a Sung Eucharist every Sunday mornin& and weekday sald masses take place at noon
on Wednesdays and Fridays. A full programme of HO￿ Week and Easter services took place and we
marked rn05t of the malor church festNals with Special seryices.

The methDd of appointment of PCC member5 15 set out in the Church Representstlon Rules. At Holy
Trtnlty, the PCC conslsts of the Incumbent, the two Churchwardens. three Deanery Synod members and
members elerted by those of the cortgregatlon who are on the electoral roll ofthe Church. Members are
elerted forthree years. and at the 2023 APCM it was agreed th* the rule 5tatin8 that members could
not seNe successive ternis was repealed. Members can now stand again directly when thelr >yearterm
concludes. The PCC meets a minimum of six times a year.
There a￿ 98 members on the Church Electoral Roll. The average Sunday attendance In 2025 (includin8
th05e under 16) was 67 and thls Is augmented by good attendance at the ma￿r Festivals of Christmas
and Easter.

The PC£ Is wmmitted to bulldin8 on the pattem of Sunday worshlp already established. and to
developing new ideas for special seThlce5. A'songs of Praise, for Di¢ken5 Week In June was well
attended and it is hoped that this wlll become an annual event.
We alm to be an incluswe and welcoming communlty and to enable ordinary people to d15¢9ver and live
outthe Christlan fètth through:
Sacramentsl worship and prayer, leorning about the Gospel and developing trust in Jesus thrlst.
Provision of pastoral care for members of the congregation and for all those Ilvlng orworking in
the partsh.
Missionary and outreach work
A coffee mornln8 Is held on Wednesday, and the church is open for crafts to take place durlng
the aftemoon.
Additiofial￿. we have signed up to the'lnduslve Church Initlatlvd and are members of the'save the
Pari51f organization.
An increasing number of groups are also wanting to hlre the church for concerts as we are the largest
Indoorspace in Broadstslr%
We are committed to maintaining and preser¥lng our hlstorlc bulldlngs and in 2025 a legacy from a
parishioner, Ted Keepin81 eftabled us to have the Iloor In the church restored and refurbished. The hall
kitchen floor and the floor in the corrldor were also replaced after extensive work by the kttchen door to
replace rotten joists. The heating System for the churth had to be overhauled as, afterthe October
service. it stopped worklng. The he* exchanger plates were removed and thorou8hly deaned and the
System is now working. The boller Is in good condltlon. Damp overthe north ai5k door has ￿en treated
and a specialist plasterer ha5 refurblshed the wall.
A qulnquennlal report completed by our Archrtect in Ortober 2023 showed thatthere were no malor
works to be undertaken. arKI nothing malor has come to Ilght since.

The monthty Saturday Shop has expanded from a small event held in the hall to become a larger
Saturday Market held in the church. The hours are bnger. lunche5 are served and the number of Craft
sta115 thattske part has grown to maxlmum capacity. The regular rt?115 run by members of the
congregation are also popular and the event now regularty pmvidES over£1200 per month to our funds.
Holy Trinity Is almost fully corn￿18nt wlth the requirements of the Church of England wlth respert to
good safeguarding practice. All persons who have been identified as needing tralning have completed
courses run by the Dlocese and thls Is monitored byour Safeguardin8 Disclosure Officer.

The PCC1s ¢ommltted to enabling the Church ts be open as often a5 posslble. and to wekomlng local
people and visitors to share in w0￿h1P both on Sundays and durlng the week. The Wednesday coffee
momings have expanded and now regularly welcome over 25 people each week.
There has been extensive engagement wsth the congregatlon and wlder community. The parlsh office Is
open In the mornlngs from Tuesday to Friday and is manned by a volunteeradmlnistrator. We have an
ènswerphone and an e-mail address and both of these are checked reBul3rly outside of office hours. Our
website 15 updated regularly and all seN[￿S and events are advertlsed there. A weekly on-line
newsletter was launched and many people outslde of thè congreÉation have signed up to ￿￿1ve it. A
quarterly paper ma8azine Is produced and published.
Giving by member5 of the congregation has dropped due the loss of some large givers, but we have
been successful in continuing to ctsnvert exlstlng givers from stsrbding order and paper-ba5ed schemes
to our online Parish Giving Scheme. We expert to launch a new stewardship campalgn to encourage
more regular grving from our congregatlon and wider communlty in 2026. The last campaign ran in
2014. The church now has 3 number of card reading machine5 and thèsè are enabllng us to accept
payments by credlt or debit card. These are helping us to Increase donation5 from the wider community,
especially at spedal 5eNices and everts.
Unfortunately. desplte several attempts. the Junior Church has not resumed regular meetings. We have
advertised for a pald leader but no-one has come forward as yet. We are hopeful that, wlth a new
Rector sn place, thls area of ourworshlp and outreath may be restarted.
There is a faithful and growing choir and 5eTvFng team, and we have welcomed Drjon Wllliams a5 our
organist.
The chureh was open for the Ride and Stride event In September and several member5 of the
congregation took part and were sponsored.
Regular rnaintenance to church buildings had been carried out Includlng WOTks to the hall.
A complets audit of our Health & Safety policy and risk assessment wa5 carried out Jnd several new
measures. especially around fire safety, were implemented.

Three members of our PCC slt on the Deanery Synod- providing the PCC with an important link with the
Diocese and the wider thurch.
Church Hall
Our hall is open to our community and actNitie5 coritinue to take place throughout the week. Stone Bay
Montessori Nursery Is uslng the hall during the day In term time and other Br¢ups Including Alcoholks
Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and other hlrers are also uslng the facility.

background to our church andlts 5eFvlce5 and activities. Our weekly pew sheet a150 disseminates
Information and is available all week forthase who visf£ our church outside of the Sunday seThI￿.
Our Mlssion giving policy was updated for 2025 to donate 5% of our Income (excluding fees and
legacies) to charities, both local and International, which are nomlnated by a committee, from our
previous year actuol income ratherthan our projected income for the year. Financial details of these can
be found below in the Finante sectlon of thls report.
Ecumenical Relatlon
We are members of the Churches Together In Broad5tairs and St Peterfs. A lay representstive regularly
attends meetings and we tske part in lolnt attlvltlos wch as the Good Friday Walk of Witnesg and carol
5ingin8 at Christmas.

expendlture at £177.510 compared to £151,066 in 2024 but thls can nearly all be explained bythe

£18,175 was planned expendlture on the refurbishment of the parquet flooring in the maln church,
made posslble by the £15,000 ￿Stricted bequestfrom Ted Keeping. The balance was covered by the
'Bullding Upkeep, fund, bequest to Holy Trinity Broadstairs by Caroline Boydell.
The remalnder were general issues. Induding Dur boiler and heatlng system whlch frequently stopped
workin£ In 2025 co5tlng us over £3,580 for parts and labour to repair, and some repair workto the Ilme
plaster on the west wall above the EasierAccess (h)or and in the Lady (JbapÈl. caused by water Ingre55.

Otherwlse. expendlture was tightly controlled against budget. We pald our parish share in full and on
time at a total cost of £95,44912024'. £S¥J,1011. The dsfference agalnstthe total In the accounts

(£96,139> Include5 a £689.92 underpayment of our parish share from 2024. Rertor expense5 de¢￿ased
substantlally owing to belng In Interregnum, however this created a new ¢ost a￿3 as we made
payments for service cover and other related expenses1£3.8461- some but not all these costs were
offset by refunds from the Dioce5e1£2,4151. We also spent considerably more on the hall in 2025

Although expendlture was VP* so was incorne on the previous year (by £3991 raislng £148.518 against a
target of £115,670, generatlng a budget Surplus of £32,84812024: £24,559). However. this was only
possible due to unbudgeted and unplanned legacy income of £37.73612024: £35.1001 wlthout which we
would be postlng a1055 of £66,728. but thank5 to the generosity of our legacy donots" we are
reportlng a final year defictt of £28,99212024.. £2.9471 which is consIderab￿ betterthan budget
1£58,4041 but remalns a concern as this continues to erode our Investment and cash reserves.

Income from regular givin& donations and assoclated gift aid schemes Beneratsd £48.726, down from
£53,250 in 2024, owed to a slight drop in Plate collections1£4.565 compared to £4.991 In 20241 and the

Markets saw another year-on-year Increase to £1731212024: £14,837) despite fundralsing In general

Investments held at 31st Decemberwere valued at £305.28212024: £338,5091. the decrease attribLrted
to the £20.000 sale of shares to fund cash flow Iwhlch incuffed a ￿alised1055 of £5151 a￿1 the
unrealised loss of £12,712 on the value of our investments overall. As a result, dlvidend5 generated by
our investsnents fell by £201 to £9,40612024: £9,607).
Our Building Upkeep Fund enjoyed a net increase of £17,820 thank5 to further legacy grfts of £21.150
from the Estate of Caroline Boydell, and expenses of lust £3,330. A new Music Fund was ertabllshed
thank5 to an anonymous and restricted donatlon of £5C(I from a member of the con8regation, of whlch

£2(K) was spent Dver the Chrlstm35 festmtles. The Floor Enhancement Fund has now been spent upon
completion of the floor refurbishment work and therefore the fund is Th)w dosed.
