To raise the aspirations of young people in the Leigh Park area whilst ensuring that the student's needs are met and they do not miss out on opportunities due to financial pressures at home. Some of the funding is used to offer paid employment to students at the School. This helps family finances, and we are able to provide training in managing finance, taking bookings, customer care, event and site management. This helps students gain valuable work experience when completing college and university applications. and help them finance leaving home for university, which would otherwise be a barrier. Funding has allowed us to develop a small holding where young people can experience the open countryside, learn how to grow fruit and vegetables and rear pigs. All the produce and meat are used in the school kitchens so the young people experience food production, field to fork. It has also allowed the School to develop the use of hydroponics with our students in their horticulture lessons. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) The school has been able to continue to provide its MUNCH programme to provide meals to our students and community and support the Munch Pantry to help the budgets of our local community go further thanks to funding from a variety of sources. Funding has been received to further our Connect programme via Connect4Generations which enables students to interact with older generations over a shared meal whilst playing games and providing company for each other. We were also able to provide football kit and equipment to our girls football team and source FA training thanks to funding obtained in the year. Section D Achievements and performance Community Crisis Funding continues to enable us to meet the needs of many children and families. We have been able to purchase clothing, shoes, memberships to clubs, helped subsidise trips and in some cases white goods for the family home. Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year Funding continues to allow us to open the school on Christmas Day and provide food and presents to the local community. We received funding from various sources that has enabled us through our Munch Community Food Programme to provide free two course hot meals to anyone in our community every weekday of the school holidays, Thursday tea times throughout the whole year and even Christmas Day. Established in 2017, Munch initially aimed to offer hot nutritious meals during school holidays for children. However, its scope quickly expanded to encompass support for families, seniors, and individuals experiencing isolation or illness. We received funding towards providing food for our Munch Food Pantry which opens most weekdays for a couple of hours where people can pay £5 and in exchange for a minimum of £15 worth of food. It enables us to provide fruit and vegetables for free. Funding has enabled us to continue to explore the area of hydroponics with our students in their Horticulture lessons and we have been able to continue to expand our HAF summer programme through the addition of kitchen garden and cookery sessions to students and parents. Section E Financial review Reserves will be utilised for the furtherance of the charities aims. Where possible excess funds will be held in an interest bearing notice account.
