and procedures to manage
them.
The trustees have nurtured partnerships with corporate organisations who
wish to support the aims of the charity, especially around the provision of
food for those who are experiencing hardship. It is recognised that the
charity and school are situated in an area of high deprivation and the need
is great.
Whilst achieving funding in a more competitive market we have significant
evidence of need and can illustrate successful implementation of projects
and programmes that have made significant difference to the students and
their families.
Section C
Ob"ectives and activities
The overall objective is to improve the levels of education, attainment and
resilience and autonomy of the school and local community.
It aims to advance the education and wellbeing of students in the school
by:
Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and
others associated with the school.
Summary of the objects of the
charity set out in its
governing document
Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which
support the school and advance the education of the students.
Ensuring that all students and families have the basic needs to be
able to function in life.
Nurturing support and partnerships within the community and
business world to ensure we are able to gain sufficient funds to
meet our aims.
TAR
March 2012

To raise the aspirations of young people in the Leigh Park area whilst
ensuring that the student's needs are met and they do not miss out on
opportunities due to financial pressures at home.
Some of the funding is used to offer paid employment to students at the
School. This helps family finances. and we are able to provide training in
managing finance. taking bookings, customer care, event and site
management. This helps students gain valuable work experience when
completing college and university applications, and help them finance
leaving home for university. which would otherwise be a barrier.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)
Funding has allowed us to develop a small holding where young people
can experience the open countryside. learn how to grow fruit and
vegetables and rear pigs. All the produ￿ and meat are used in the
school kitchens so the young people experience food production, field to
fork.
The school has been able to continue to provide its MUNCH programme
to provide meals to our students and community, and support the
opening of the Munch Pantry to help the budgets of our local community
go further thanks to funding from a variety of sources.
Donations have enabled the purchasing of presents for our local
community during our Christmas Day celebrations and help towards the
costs of providing holiday activities via the Connect Programme.

Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Community Crisis Funding has enabled us to meet the needs of many
children and families. We have been able to purchase clothing, shoes,
memberships to clubs, helped subsidise trips and in some cases white
goods for the family home.
We received funding from the employees of a corporate company which
was used to provide some of the food and presents on Christmas Day
which was attended by 150 members of the local community.
We received funding from various sources that has enabled us through
our Munch Community Food Programme to provide free two course hot
meals to anyone in our community every weekday of the school holidays,
Thursday tea times throughout the whole year and even Christmas Day.
Established in 2017, Munch initially aimed to offer hot nutritious meals
during school holidays for children. However, its scope quickly expanded
to encompass support for families, seniors. and individuals experiencing
isolation or illness.
We received funding towards providing food for our Munch Food Pantry
which opens most weekdays for a couple of hours where people can pay
£5 and in exchange for a minimum of £15 worth of food. It enables us to
provide fruit and vegetables for free.
Funding was secured to enable fencing of new paddocks to extend the
area rented as a small holding to enable students to study horticulture.
Section E

possible excess funds will be held in a interest bearing noti￿ account.
