THE RYAN STANFORD APPEAL FUNDS RESEARCH INTO ALPERS SYNDROME, A RARE TERMINAL ILLNESS AFFECTING YOUNG CHILDREN. THE RESEARCH IS UNDERTAKEN AT THE WELLCOME CENTRE, NEWCASTLE.MUCH WORK HAS BEEN GIVEN TO RAISING AWARENESS TO ALPERS SYNDROME, THE RYAN STANFORD APPEAL AND ALSO COMMUNICATING WITH OTHER AFFECTED FAMILIES.
Objects: To Advance The Education Of The Public Into The Causes And Treatment Of Alpers Syndrome, Including Mitochondrial Disease, Through The Promotion Of Research And The Dissemination Of The Useful Results Of That Research.
