TR STEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 AUGUST 2024 Ob ectives and Actlvltles The objectives of the charity are: Provision of public religious W￿hIp open to all,. Promotion of prayer as vital part of life,. provision of pastoral care to all that require ic. Promotion of education and training in the Christian faith. Support and nurturing worshlpping communtlles,. promotion of faith based education arKI activity for the young. The circuit was composed of 9 churches as at th8 end OfAUg￿ wilh 3 meeting as a dass of another church and Langholme. Achl•vam•nts Many community coffee momings. lunches and other activities have laken pla￿ to great appreciation of the well-being they brought to people's lives. many Christmas aL*viti8S twk place in various chapels. Lent courses took place in several d￿pe1S and there was a Good Friday seNice at Lanner and a Walk of Witness in Falmouth. Falmouth also held a celebration for Tenebrae. Revive is help monthly to give an alternatlv8 style of worship and fellowship in the evening. Circuit Breakfasts have taken place and a circult service was held to say welcome Jonathan Froggatt as our Superintendent minister. Flnanclal Rovlew. The accounts for the year showed an dccrease in value as V￿ had quite a large deficit. We had a lot of expendilure on propertles as we bought a new manse. We also had 2 ministers for this year. The Central Finance Board is used a reserve fund to meet eX￿en￿eS wthin th8 running costs of the circuit. These are about 6 months costs and are about £70 000. The balance as at 31st August 2024 was £73568.55 in the Central Flnance Board and the working capit81 In the Current account at Uoyds was £6001.85 stru¢turo Ovornment and mana oment The goveming document is lald out on the Charity Commlsslon website. We are a part of the Methodist Church in Britain and are part of th6 Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Methodist District who offer some oversight of our governance. The Clrcult Meeting has an average of 40 members acting as Trustees. Other than officers who are on the body because of the roll they hold, seNing members are as set out in th8 Methodist Church Constitution, Practice and Doctrine and are eleded annually by local church members and various circuit working groups. The daY-t￿daY management is exercised under the18ad8rship of the Superintendent Minister togeth8r with the Ministers, Circult Stewards and VolunteerAdmin who meet regularly. The clrcull complies wth the Safeguarding requirements of the Methijdist church, this includas an annual revlew of the policy, keeping training up to date aTrJ dlsplaylng relevant Infomiation for all users of the varlous buildings wilhln the Circuit.
