how this will refl¢ct on our Iivc5. And the hves of othcr5 as wc seek to make his love known to othets in our pati5h.

Those who att¢nd church meetings on % regular basis rnay $ign up to the F.lectoral Roll. which is the Eornal membership
of the Church of England. allowing members to vote at the Annual P3rochial Church Meering CAPCM). These totalled
536 in 2024 (2023.. 551). The figures for the Aver4e Sunday Attendancc, ¢ounted during C)ctober each ycar, previously
gave a more reliablc indication of the size of rhe church famtiy. These show gradual growth in church numbers between
2015 and 2019. However. no count Was Perforn￿d in 2020 due to the pandcrnic restrictions and. in Octobcr 2021,
although physical rncetings were t2king place in pcrson, capacity was ]imited due to the cornbincd effects of the
p*ndemic and ongoing building work. Thc averdge in October 2024 was 842 (2023 846).

Thr PCC continues to seek to implcmcnt all appropriate guidance and #dopt best pracuce with rewd to safcguarding,

good governance and risk managemeftt activiry. although it has placed a substanually increased workload on 2 number
of individuals. to whom the PCC 15 immco$¢ly grateful.
As At 31 December 2024, 143 (2023.. 246) individuals within thc church family had received s%fe8uardin8 tr8ining. and
233 (2023.. 216) individuals h¥Ld current DBS chc¢k5 for their work with the church.
Updat• - Staff
In our rnini5try team in February 2024 Jessica Warburton joined in rhe role as iNlin$5ter Eor Community Outreach. This
is a role fundcd by the Abbeyfield fund and sccking to work in particularly amongst the ¢lderly members of our wish.
In ilugust 2024 Tom Brewster joined the sraff in the role of Nlini5tcr for ML usic. WJI Sykes left hi5 rolc as Jurtior
Childrcn, Youth and F2milie5 Worker and we welcomed Rhys unden as rcp]accment in September 2024.
Mitt Law￿. fthi5hed hi5 Cxtcnded cutacy in June 2024. and continued to support us during Au8USt %5 wc rc5h3ped our
smai) groups. We w¢te delighted to be able to join with the Diocese in 5UPPOrting 4M8tt in his new one year role in
Kilnhurst from %eptembcr 2024 from the growth fund.
In out ministry support team. Fleidi Beatson j02ned as Fin2nce Assistant and PA to the vicar in Feb￿arY 2024. Anna
Wade left het role as lead recruitcr in August 2024. Jenny Wong and Rcb¢cca Tomlinson joined the team to covcr this
role and provid¢ materniry cover within thc Ministry 5UPPOrt team.

Thc PCC. in consultation with the Bishop of Sheffield. has asked for extended pastoral ovcr5ight from The Rt Rev
Rob ,Munro who was installed xs th¢ Bishop of Ebbsfteet duting the year. He offers extended pastoral and sacramenta]
care to those p￿lSheS and clergy holding a complemeotarian understAndin8 of ordaincd ministry. which is an e55entia]
part of rhe Church of En8land'5 approach to en$u¢ mutual flourishing OE difEetent church traditions.
The PLC ¢ontinue5 to be concerned at the direction of travel on some of the issues being discussed at nauonai level
within the Church OF En8land, nor least relaung to Iaving in Love and Faith (LLF). as discussed at Genera] Synods
during thc year. The PCC h*s contsnued to give cateful thou8ht to these rnattcrs and have appreciated the support ol
Church of England Evdngelica] Council (CEEC) in joining wirh other evangelical churches in the Church of England
to uphold the long held biblical beiiefs on human sexuality And marriage.

The l)CC continues to munitor it5 finAncial situation closely as budgeted cxpcnditure cxcceds income. During 2024.
the l)CC has been gre#dy cncouragcd by the r¢$pon$e to its Giving tsunday in ()Ltober which Saw increased pledged to
our incomc c105in% the gap.
The PCC hs carefully considered a detasled budget for 2025 And a forecast extcnding into 2026, thctcfore covering a
pcriod of at least 12 month$ from the datc of rlicse fJnancia] s¢atcrnent5. Although the budget anticipAte5 a deficit for
2025 the church'5 frec reserves remasn $uffi¢icnt ro support this. and the chutch M]1 continue to review its income and
expenditure durin8 2025 and is ready ro takc nc¢cssAry acuon to ensure 2 balxnccd budgct in future years, ()n Ihi5 basis
the PCC 15 satisfied that it is appropriate to prep2re the accounts on a going concern basis.

At the ycar end. the PCC held £506k (2023.. £1.302k) in net current assets. Of this amount. £416k (2023: £459k)
W25 Within Unrc5trict¢d bunds. £lt rhe year end the PCC hcld £342k (2023: £240k) in Ihrcc thffcrent deposit accounts
with a variety of notice period5 and maturity dates. These are primari]y hcld to support the church's reservc5 and thc
PCC wlll be reviewing its ongoing investment needs.
Reserves pollcy
The PCC updated it5 rcserye policy during the year and now xims to maintain suFficicnt Gcncrnl Fund free reserves
(General Fund net currcnt a55Cts) to cover three months siaff 5a]ary c05ts to provide Eor short-tcrm working c2Pltal
te9uirernents of the church. Based on the 2025 budget approv¢d by the PCC. this equarc5 to a round sum threshold
of £160k (2024 reselves threshold.. £129k). At the year end. General Fund free teserves were £323k (2023.. £330k)
and thereforc thc po]icy thteshold was exceeded by £163k P023.. £200k). This exccs$ is consid¢r¢d approp£iate as we
facc a deficit budget in 2025.

structuro, Governance and Managem•nt
The Parochi21 Church Coun(al OE Christ Church, Fulwood (the 'PCC' or the 'Council? ts a co￿Orate body established by
the Church of EnglAnd. The PCC operatcs under the Parochi21 Church Council Powers Measure and 15 also a registered
charity with the Clwity Commission.
As noted above. the objective of thc PCC is to promotc the g05pel of the Lord Jesus Christ according to the doctrincs
of the Churth of England. The PCC ¢ontinuc to shape all its activiues to fulfil rhis mission under God, in particular
through the vision to know and enjoy rhe transforming lov¢ of Jesus. and make hi$ lovc known to orhers, for his glory.
The PCC has the responsibility of co-operating with the incumbent in promoting the whole mission of the Church within
the Ecclesiasuc21 Patish of Fulwood. It is also responsible for the Church Cefttre and the owned and le2sed staff houses.
Members of thc PCC Rre either ex-officio or elected by the Annual Patochial Church Meeting in accord￿ce with the
Church Representation Rules.
