During 2025, the Parochial Church Council met in March, June, August and November and Standing Committee met a few weeks before each PCC to set the agenda and discuss fftatters for ratification at PCC. Finance and Property Meeting was held in November 2025. The Annual Parochial Church Meeting Vfas held in Aprtl 2025. mitte&. This is the onty committee required by law. It has po to trxisart the business of the PCC between its meetin8& subject to any dn*cth given ty the Council. It is a usefvl committee discussing items and shaping the agenda of the upcoming PCC m￿ing. Flnance and Property Committ The committee meets once a year to discuss fees arKI charitable giving and other financial matters. There has been an aDpeal to boost the Garden of Remembrance fijnd and donations have come in swdily for this. Bill and Elaine Swens also kindly gave a donation to Bunning Hall funds from the quiz night they organised. Margaret Silk also rarsed much needed funds for thurth through the sale of quiz sheets. In the Summer the architett came to church to help us priorifise the work that needs to be done most urgentty following the 2024 Quinquennial Inspectio￿ as well as suggesting whom shcmjld be approached regarding work and what repairs could be gTouped together to be done at the same tim Priority Nyas an orying leak in the vestry roof- this was done but work is needed. The men's toilet in the P￿nnIng Hall has been in a very poor statr for some tim& A grant from Blaby Dbstrbct Council to cover 50% of the cost of the work has been successfully obt2ined and the work will go ahead in Spring 2026. There was disquiet eXpr￿ed by those who had attended. At the October meetin& Gill Elliott from the Church Buildings Team gave a very interesting talk about Festiyal Churches. She explained that her role was to help parishes consider whether it vns appropriate for them to become a Festival Church, and rf so. to provide help to develop thaL It would cover areas such as the care of the fabric of the buildins fffaking changes to the buildin& fil￿re susttinability and the care d£h￿rds. the main points she made were that any church can becoff* •Fesdval Church, arKI it does not mean that it leads to closure. k is abo revaTd4 In that some churches fmd that they increase in suth a way that ' return to their origirlll stsws. SAFEGUARDING REPORT 2025 All relevant poliaes were reviewed and accepted by the PCC in November 2025, and displayed as required in the churth as was the inf0Th￿ poty at the bad( of the church. Janice Wyllie is the church Safeguarding C in 2025. This was considered necessary by the Dioce* because ￿ have no incumbenL It is a lengthy cours4 consisting of an online workbook and two two. hour ZOOM meetings. The main contatt is to train people in the recognition and managen￿t of safeguarding in the thurth seuing. BasiG foundation and domestic al)use training will be r4uired for all PCC members in 202& as it will be three years since it was completed and must be renewed. DATA PROTEcfioN REPORT 2025 Data Protecti(￿ appears on the agenda at all PCC meeungs during the year and Hilary Cooper is the Dats ProteCr1￿ offic￿. As new contacts come our way. they are Si￿1 a copy of the Dats Thivacy Noti￿ and a Data Collection Forni as required by Generdl Data Protection Reguknion (GDPR). PASTORAL REPORT 2025 Many members of the cOngre￿tIon do a wonderful job pastoralty to ensure those in need are contacod by visit& phone calls and the taking round of grfts from the church when appropriate to do 50. LtiNFd Stevenson oversees Pastoral Car We continue to support Luttwth and Villages Food Bank kn people bring to church tins and packets throughryrt the year. with a special collection at Harv Donations of money and food are always gratefully received by the charity. At Christmas Martin and Linda Stevenson collect toys for the children and gift sets for the teenagers for the Salvation Anny Toy Collection. This er￿bleS children to have a toy or gift set who probabty woukl not get a grft wId￿Ut our help. Salvation Arniy in Hinckley area was able to help 475 thildren. which represented 240 families. Each child was able to have 34 Fresents as wdl as stocklng fillers to open on Chrlsthw mornin& The collection ks well supported by the church and village. sent c¥X to people who are housebound. ilL or bereaved. We can offer trans￿ to people who need a lift to churth or appointmen￿ and meals to those needing a bk CHOIR REPORT 2025 We are very fortunatr ts) have a four-part church CTr￿1r led by choirmaster. J ScotL There are very few church thoirs left in the county of Leicestershire. The choir continues to rehearse every week and sings for the Communion services cw4 the first Sunday of each month. We are also pleased to be able to sing for some of the special service& in particular Eastw. ReMefflbran￿ Advent and Nine Lessons and Carols. We have PerfOn￿ a wide range of music over those services from the 13th the 21 st centuries and not always in English. There are only I l of us singing regularly and, sopranos excepted, there are only two choristers in eath of the other part& We are gratdul to Jon for his leadership and patience as we learn new piece In October we put on an enjoyable and successfvl conc¥¢ Songs from the Shows. - a Yariety of choir piece& solos and duets as well as enjoyable renditions from the recorder group. It was good to wdcome a few members of Jon's choir to join us for this concert and at Nine Lessons and Carol& We were very grateful to Anne de Graeve who accompanied us on the piano. The thoir entered a tree into the Christrns Tree Festival on the theme of your favourits childhood book arKI Diane Scott Put this together. Thanks are also due to Martin Barstow who plays the organ for our sung services working very hard to produce music to a high standard. BELLRINGERS REPORT 2025 Bell captai￿ Sarah Freer reports. -fm delighted to say it has been a yery successfvl year for the ringers. We started 2025 with 4 learners WFK) I was teachin% at Cosbv and Vvhetstpnp with the help of Sarah Catherall and our aim was to try and ring rounds for Easter Sunday. In March. we had a[￿ther learner join us and yet another one in June. I'm pleased to say we rang for Easter Sunday and all 6 of our new learners have now achieved their Level l in ringing which means they can all now ring a bell indepermlently. In November I vfas assessed and pass&J my Level I teathing qualification through the ART scheme and l attended the second course in January to enable me to help our learners progress from handling a bdl to ringing more complicated things. We rang for a couple of other sffvices in the year including VE Day, remembrance Sunday and Christmas and most of our new ringers have also nfftg at other thurches on their practice n￿ts. Enderby ringers have still been ioining us on the first Monday of the month and have contwwd to be very sUpporU￿ There are also a couple of ringers VAK) used to ring at Cdsty who have come back to join us. SIn￿jan￿Y we have committed to having a regular practice on Monday evawy; from 63￿M (slithtly earlier than our old wactice time due to having a you learner with us). We are also aiming to ring for Sunday service as often as we can from l 0.30-1 l am and have managed this most weeks since the middle of January. With regards to the condition of the bells one of our new ringers John, has become very irterested in bell rrAintenm We had a broken stsy, which ¢)ften happens with new ring￿5. Ythich he replaced and fitted as wdl as fitting a new dingle box (which holds the wooden stay). He has inspected all the bells with me and noted a couple of things which we Wbll undertake in the next few week& tightening bolts and possibly replacing another stay. He is already proving a great asseL Here's to another good year. SOCIAL AND FUNDRAISING REPORT 2025 Thanks to the Social Committ< and partKularty to All$￿ Nornmn. we Iwa fflany social and fvndraising events which were very successful. As well as a means of raising money, we see social events as a forn) of outreach as many villagers come along to events. Not only is it an opportunity to chat to peopk but we also get to know rf there are people in particular need of help or prayer. Pre-loved sale in January did well. Book and Puzzle sale organised by Ros Clark was very successful afdin with kjads of books and plenty of customers. Spring Fayre goes well, helped greatly by Eric's plant stalL and later in the year the Christmas coffee morning was enhanced by lots of lovely grfts as well as an ent4cing array of cake There was also an enjoyable VE Day celebration tea and a Harvest Supper. The church was open over Harvest weekend with beautiful flower displays arranged by Linda Stevenson arwj the fiower arranm as well as tours of the church buildin& In D￿enknr. Hetert Stevenson again organised a Christmas Tree Festival which was also a great success with lots of visitors to the churth and the involvemert of many groups from the village Induding the schools.
