Incom• trènds
Circuit income is primarily drawn from the assessment paid by the cirujit churches and
letting of one residential property.
Expendlture trends
Stlpend expgndilure has increased exh financlal year in line with conference approved increases.
120/0 of expenditure is thg Circuit contribution lo the Dlslri¢l and connex￿n, of which a signrficant part is
used lo fund the wcffk of the wider Methodlst Church.

As at 31 August 2025 the net current assets of the Circuit we £435,413: covering
anticipated expenditure.

Circuit financial plans for the wming year have been prepared on the basi$ Ihal Ihere will be less than
tsvo ordained slaff, tsvo full time lay workers wllh anticipatèd Gosl of Ilving salary increases combined wllh
an increase in the assessmenl paid lo the district. Th8 circuit is hdding extra funds in reserve to help
any struggling churches. The Circuit is looking to employ additional lay workers dependent on Crcuit
need.

The Reserves Policy for the Circuit is to hold a minimum sum equivalent to six months, average
expenditure of around £58,000.. this should enable in the short term the funding of planned activltles
in the event of any inability to raise the full Circuit Assessment from churches.
£34,000 has been thought lo be Sufficient to meet any unforeseen Item of expendllure on the
manses and one cotlage in ils care.
The Trustees al80 c￿nSider it prudent to provmle an amount in ¢ase of redundarty of £5,000.
The reserves fund th8 salary and expenses of the Pastoral and Devdopment W(￿ker, wh￿h is a
further £30,300.
The total reseNe fund required is therefore £127,300

8. Investments
The funds that 5UPPOrt the Circuit Model Trust Fund are held by TMCP in Trustees Interest Funds
on which interest is uedited to the accounts each month. These are regwded as medium and long
term investments.
TMCP is the legal owner and Cuslijdian Trustee of all Melhodisl Model Trust property, Includlng
Legacies, EndowTnenls and Accumulated Funds. Trust property is held for and Dn behaFf of local
Managing Trustees vlho are responsible for the day lo day management of tnjst property. TMCP
ensure that. through providing guidance and acting under their direction. the Managing Trustees
comply with charity law and Melhodlst law and poliGy as determined by the Melhodisl Conference.
Borrowby Methodist Church cottage was valued and pl2¢ed on the market for sale This property
sils within the balance $h¢el wilh a nil cost as Borrowby Methodist Church transferred Ihg
