Messy Church
This popular event reaches out to families with young chlldren on a Frlday after school once a
month. Crafts, Eames and activitles are therned on a particular story from the bible and parents are
invited to take part. Following a brief act of worship, a hot me31 is provided and we all eat as a
family. Thls event Is free and servlced by volunteers from the church, It is attended by 3040 people
and greatly appreciated as it allows time, space and facilities for families to enjoy doing creative
thSngs together in a Christian environment free from domestic pressures.

Communlty Gtirden
This outreach is well used and provides pleasure to people In the communty-many of whom are
flat dwellers without gardens. The individual raised planters are appreciated by people in wheel
chair5 and those finding tt hard to bend. Thi5 project, starteé 9 years ago, is a recognised success as
it has become a meeting place where fripndships are fomied and loneliness avoided. The gardeners
share a common interest and the garden provides a pleasant spot. just to sit and relax.
Befiyendjng
Church members are encouraged to make a difference in our community by personally reaching out
to family, friends and work colleagues, and strangers. with the Christian Gospel. This can be a cost
thing to do
in temis of time and energy-but has the wtential to be hugely rewarding. Financial
support of missions and community groups The church members decide at the start of each financial
year which mission agencies and commLJntygroups to support financially, from IO% of our church
offerings. In addition, the church will occa5i0nally have a Retiring Offering- special opportunitie5 for
church member5 and friends of the church to give to a particular cause. We also look to financially
support members and friends of the church who are going through difficult times, To fund such glfts,
the church takes up a special offering at our monthly comrnunion service and members are also
invrted to g￿e to thls Pastoral Fund as and when they are able to.
FlnancialAccounts
Our offedngs Increased overthe previou5 year and the claim for the arrears of glft aid was
submitted and this resulted in a surplus on the general fund of £29.148.
ReseThes PoJi¢y
The trustees have a poliry to maintain reserve5 of at least three months overhead expenditure. At
the end of the year the church had f ree reserves of £75,981 which would more than cover expected
expenditure for three months.
Church Trustees
To be eligible for election, Trustees must be church members nomlnated by other members. Church
leaders were called deacons, but. during the year were renamed as members of the church
leadership t@am. Each Ipader's period of service is for a three year term. which may be extended for
further term, if nominated, but they may serve no longer than two temis before stepping down for
at least a year. The Church Officers (Secretary and Treasurer) are elected annually at the AGM and
