## SOMERSTOWN MOSQUE LTD ## INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF SOMERSTOWN MOSQUE LTD YEAR ENDED 31 MAY 2025 I have examined the accounts of the charity for the period ended 31 May 2025, which are set out on pages 3 to 8. ## RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act), and that an independent examination is needed. ## It is my responsibility to: - examine the accounts under section 43 of the 1993 Act, - *to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 43 of the 1993 Act; and * to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. ## BASIS OF EXAMINER’S REPORT My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. ## EXAMINER’S STATEMENT Based on my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect accounting records have not been kept in accordance with section 41 of the Act, or that the accounts presented do not accord with those records or comply with the accounting requirements of the Act. No matter has come to my attention in connection with my examination to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn to enable a proper understanding of the accounts. ACCOUNTING POLICIES: Basis of accounting The charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland issued in October 2022, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), the Charities Act 2011 and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice. ## Income All income is recognised once the Centre has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably. ## Restricted funds Restricted income received are accounted for separately as restricted funds and are used for the purposes specified by the donor ## Resources expended All expenditure is included on an accrual basis, inclusive of any VAT, which cannot be recovered.
