SOMERSTOWN MOSQUE LTD
YEAR ENDED 31 MAY 2023
I report on the accounts of the company for the year ended 31 May 2023 which are set out on
pages 9 to 15.
RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND EXAMIINER
The trustees (who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law) are
responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider that an audit is not
required for this year under section 14412) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that
an independent examination is needed.
Having satisfied myself that the company is not subjert to audit under company law and is
eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to-.
examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act.
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. and
. to stste whethw particular matters have come to my attention.
BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT
My cxamination was ¢arried out in accordance with thc general Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An cxaminalion includes a revi¢w of Ihe accounting records kept by the ¢ompany and a
comparison of the accounts pr¢sent¢d with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual
items or disclosurcs in the accounis, and seeking cxplanaiions from you as irustecs concerning any such
maitcrs. Thc procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidenc¢ that would be required in an audit
and consequently no opinion is given as to wheiher the accounts present a 'true and fair view, and the

ACCOULNTING POLICIES:
Basis of accounting
Thc financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and
Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended PrdCtic¢ applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller
Entities published on 16 July 2014, the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities
(effective January 2015)
Income
All income is recognised once the Charity has entitlement to the income, it is probable
that the income will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured
reliably.
Expendlture
Expenditure is recognis¢d once there is a legal or constructive obligaiion to make
payment to a third party, it is probable thai settlemeni will be required and the amount of
the obligation can b¢ measured reliably. All exp¢nditure is accounted for on an accruals
basi5
Depreciation and Dimunltlon of As5etS
Tangible fixed asset5 are stated ai cost less depreciation. Depreciation is provided at rates
calculated to write off the cost of fixed assels. less their estimated residual value, over
their expected useful lives on th¢ following bases:
Office equipment (except for IT equipment) 15 0/0 per annum on cost .
General funds
CJeneral funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the
trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of Camden Mediation and which have
not been designated for other purposes.
Designated funds
Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that have been set aside by the trustees
for particular purposes. The aim and use of each designated fund is set out in the notes
to the financial Statements.
Reslricted funds
Restricted funds are grants, donations and other incoming resources which are to be
used for specific purposes as laid down by the donor. Expenditure which meets these
criteria is charged to the fund.
Governance Costs
Governance cost5 include those costs associated with meeting the constitutional and
statutory requirements of the charity and include costs linkcd to the Strate￿
management of the charity.
