Piogram Is not on Charlty, but rather on the transforn)atlon of chlldren and those around them. Pro8ram

thelr own communltles. Coptlc Orphans addresses both Imrnedlate and lon8-term needs $0 that Not Alone chlldren

Coptlc Orphans utlllies educatlon as the prlmary tool to empower thlldren to become self-suffldent, well4dJusted

capaclty of 80 on.slte Stsff members from 20 Communlty Development Associations ICDASI.
The 21 pro8ram Is a fulty pald trfp by Coptlc Orphans that alms to 8l¥e Coptic youn8 adults In the
diaspora the opportunlty to serve In E8YPt while learnlng about their herltage and Coptlc Identlty.
While In Egypt, fellows of the 21 Pro8ram serve Coptlc Orphans chlldren. ￿SIt churches and cultural
sltes, and stren8then thelr ties wlth thÈlr roots and herltaoe. Partlclpants were selected based on
certaln crlteria. In 2023. IC(I fellows served Toughly 2.OQ) chlldren in E&ypt in two different 8fOUPS
from June 8 to July 3 and from July 13 to Au8USt 7.
Serve to Learn Is a dynamlc program that strengthens the tles of Copti¢ Diaspora volunteers
Isecond and thlrd generation Eayptiansl with thelr homeland. E8yPt. through seMn8
underprI￿leged children over a span of three weeks. The program strlves to provide youth thè
hands-on experience and enables them not onty to wltness the challen8e5 underserved chlldren
face, but acttvely participate In the effort to improve thelr lives by ¢ontributln& albelt short-term. to
thelr educatlon. By Itving in their villages, teachlng In classrooms. vlstting thelr homes. and
engaging with their communtty. the volunteers re￿1ve a multi4imensional view of a Not Alone
child. The immerslve nature of the experleno lets volunteefs see a child from multlple vantages to
Bive them 3 deeper and more InsightFul understandlng of each chlld beyond the veneer of poverty.
Upon thelr return, they are equipped to advoote as ambassadors for the cause of disadvanta8ed
chlldren in Egypt. Serve to Learn volunteers and alumni then become the drfvin8 for￿ for future
development of the country. In 2023, the Serve to Leam program brought 21 volunteers to se
rou8hty 500 children In Egypt from January 21 to February 11.
