We are a non- profft development organizatlon that promdes 3id and support to vulnerable children in E8yPt. Our
pro8rams includes..
Not Alone Pro
ram
NAP
The flagship program of Coptic Orphans, Not Alone, serves over 12,4Crf) orphans and their families in 60 dioceses in
E8yPt. Each child In Not Alone, through cooperation wlth one of Coptlc Orphans, more than SSO church-based
volunteer 'Reps,' receives the protection, support. and Confiden￿ that he or she lost when their father died or
abandoned them. The emphasis of Not Alone is on the trartsformatlon of the Children and those around them.
Pro8rèrn partl¢lpants are nominated by the local churches and vetted prlor to onboardln8 wlth NAP. Slmilarly NAP
representatives are nominated throu8h the ¢hur¢h and vetted by the or8anizatlon. The rep wlll then take a full tallv
of the monihly expendilure of the pro8ram participants. By relmbursln8 the famllles for the escalatlnB Costs of
education and living expenses in Egypt the participating families 8ain the resources to break the cycle of poverty, as
well as the courage to become chanBe-makers in their own communities. Copi1¢ Orphans addres5e5 both immediate
and lon8-ierm needs so that participating children can focus SUc￿$fUllY with the academlc, socl81. and emotional
challenges they face. Because Copti¢ Orphan5 focu5e5 on education a5 the primary tool to empower children to
become self-5ufficient, well-adlusted adults. this program prioritizes providing the tools and mentorship needed for
the chlldren the develop the literary skills. The program is pivotal in helpinE the children achleve hlgh marks In
school. The children are encouraged to d￿lop their God*iven talents so that they Can overcome their own
cbrcumstances and transform future 8eneratlons.
Each of the volunteer representatives of Coptic Orphans, the Reps. is nominated by their Bishop in the Coptic
Orthodox Church. The Reps work with fatherless families in some of the most impoverished communitie5 in Egypt,
from the slum5 of Calro to remote rural vlllages. Each Rep has relatlonships with 15-25 chlldren, and serves each by:
Visiting the child at least once a month at the famivs home to assess and providè for basit needs and
address underlyinB problems rooted in the home life of the child.
Connecting the ¢hild and his or her mother and siblings lo asystsnce in areas such a5 academic tutoring and
mentoring for special talents or needs.
Educating and advocating for familie5 to access civil rights such as birth ￿rtIfICates. govemment widows,
pensions. land rights. and government identifications.
Gathering children, their mothers, and their peers in specialized workshops that build skills in literacy,
leadership, computer trainin& household finance. relationships. cultural appreciation. job readiness, and

income-8eneration, as well as toverin8 critical topics in effective parentin& disease preventlon, and female
Benital mutllation.
In 2019. a new initiative was laun¢hed under NAP whereby Coptic Orphans outsourced therapy counseling services
from a specializetl nonprofit in Egypt. called Tawseela. The counseling helps children and mothers deal with past
trauma. heal from psychological and emotlonal wounds. and 80 through life equipped with new and effertive coping
mechanisms.
Future Leader5 Scholarshlp
Future Leaders Scholarship Ilaunched in 20161 is a competitive scholarship designed for NAP general high school
graduates who are distinguished for their academic. personal, leadershrp, and volunteering accomplishments. It
aims to provide the participants with finanoal, moral. and Social sUPPOrt to pursue Hi8her Education in the fièld thev
want, develop thelr leadership skills. and instill values of volunteerism and service, and enable their potential to lead
change in iheir communltles. Examples of iallored activities under the stholarship include.. book club5, leadershlp
camps. community initiatives trainings, among others.
Valuable Glrl Pro

The Valuable Glrl Project Is a multl-faceted development Program that tai8ets mar8lnall2ed glrls and young women
in high-poverty areas in Egypt. Valuable Girl's main goal is to empower girls on the intrapersonal. interactional, and
behavioral leve15 by inveslin8 in their potentials and empowerin8 them to maximi2e their Influence In thelr
communltSes. The project brin8S tO8ether Muslim and Christian girls laBe$ 7-221 in a Big Si5ter-Little Sister
mentorshlp arran8ement that promotes peaceful co-existence. strengthens girls, understandSng of thelr rlghts, and
Improves academic retention rates, alon8 Wlth other positive v)¢ial and economlc outcomes for partlcipants. Coptlc
Orphan5 provide$ 8rants to local development CDA'S to help implement this model lor 2 years across the country.
Thls unique opportunity empowers glrls and young women to continue their educatlon. ralse thelr self-esteem,
develop decision-making and leadership skills, raise awareness on gender-based violence and most Importantly
reduce their social isolatlon an(1 break barriers of sectayianism.
Slnce Its Inceptlon 20 years ago, the project has operated in over 184 sites across Egypt, and empowered more than
15,000 glrls. In the past Lycle that ended In October 2019. the prolect operated in 16 51tes in three 8overnorates,
supporting the capacity building of 64 CDA staff, and introducin8 new inieractlve learning te¢hniques and actlve
learninB methods 3monB the 1.6(MJ participatin881'Tls. The current cyde started in October 2021 and has partnership
with 20 CDAS.
erve to Learn
Serve to Learn Is a dynamSc program that Strengthens the ties of Coptic Diaspora volunteers (second and third
generation Egyptians) with their homeland, E8YPt, through servin8 underprivile8ed children over a span of three
week5. The program strives to provide youth with the hands-on experience and enable them nol only to witne55
the challenges under5eryed children fo￿, but artively parti¢ipatt in the effort to improve their ITVÈS by contributln&
albeit short temi, to their edu￿tIOn. By living in their villages. teaching in classrooms. visiting their homes. and
en8a8ingwith their community. the volunteers receive a multi-dimensional view of a Not Alone child. The immersive
nature of the experience lets volunteers seea child from multlple vantages to give them a deeper and more Inslghtfvl
understanding ofeach child beyond the veneer of poverty- Upon their retum. they are equipped to advocate
as ambassadors for the cause of disadvantaged children in Egypt. Serve to Learn volunteers and alumni
then become the driving force for future development of the country.

2021 was a fruitful year where we raised 257,745 GBP. That amount was used along with the income raised in
2020 to 5UPPOrt our main programs in E8ypI in 2021.
