## **THE PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF ST MARY THE VIRGIN, TWICKENHAM TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2022**

**______________________________________________________________________________________________**

## **3 FINANCIAL REVIEW**

A detailed breakdown of the financial activities of the PCC is contained in the financial statements attached to this report.

This year’s statement of financial activity shows a surplus of £73,000 (2021-£53,000) The primary reason for this surplus was the great generosity of a number of parishioners. Total income was £272,000 compared to £219,000 in 2021. Expenditure was £199,000 compared to £166,000 in 2021

Our income from planned giving was £125,000, up from £122,000 in 2021. Our income from collections was £20,000 compared to £9,000 in 2021, as a consequence of the pandemic lifting.

Our other areas of unrestricted regular income, fees from church and hall lettings, and church fees increased to £63,000 compared to £38,000 in 2021, again reflecting the lifting of the pandemic.

Day-to-day unrestricted expenditure on church activities has increased to £199,000 compared to £166,000 in 2021. Our contribution to the Diocesan Common Fund increased by £3,000 to £89,000 in line with the commitment made to the Diocese.

This year, £3,637 was distributed as part of charitable giving to charities nominated by members of the church.

There has been no change to fixed assets in the year, other than the annual depreciation charge. Debtors have increased to £31,000 from £28,000 in 2021 and include £20,000 of income tax recoverable through gift aid. Creditors are increased from £26,000 in 2021 to £29,000.

Cash at bank and in hand increased from £222,000 in 2021 to £296,000
