|Policy on<br>grant<br>making|Para<br>1.38|Any group, organisation or individual who wishes to apply for<br>funding from the Trust needs to complete an application form and<br>have their project endorsed by a serving police officer or a South<br>Wales police staff member. Applications are assessed on a rolling<br>basis and the Trust aims to respond to applicants within four-six<br>weeks. All Applications are made via the online funding portal ‘flexi<br>grant’: https://policeandcrimecommissionerforsouthwales.flexigrant.<br>com/<br>Once an application is submitted it is assessed using the following<br>process:<br>1.<br>The application is initially checked by the Commissioner’s<br>staff for due diligence and financial scrutiny. Applicants may<br>be contacted for additional information to support this<br>screening. The applications are then discussed with Force<br>colleagues before being presented to the Trustees.<br>2.<br>If the application is deemed eligible for consideration by the<br>Trustees, it is then reviewed by the grants sub-group at the<br>next appropriate meeting or by email<br>exchange if there is an immediate consensus view.<br>3.<br>Applications are assessed against our_Outcomes_<br>_Framework._The grants sub-group assesses to what extent<br>the application helps young people make more positive life<br>choices, have better relationships and experience improved<br>mental and physical wellbeing.<br>4.<br>Once the final decision has been made, the applicant is<br>notified via the online portal.<br>5.<br>Successful applicants will be sent a letter setting out the<br>terms and conditions of funding and asked to sign and<br>return a Grant Acceptance form.<br>6.<br>All grant recipients need to submit a report at the end of<br>their project, providing details on the activity undertaken, the<br>outcomes that were achieved and how the grant was<br>spent.|
