The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of Uxbridge Road Tabernacle Reformed Baptist Church (the charity) for the year ended 30 September 2024. The Trustees confirm that the Annual report and financial statements of the charity seek to comply with the current statutory requirements, the requirements of the charity's governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" issued in January 2019 (FRS102).

Structure, governance and management

a. Constitution

The policy and operating decisions of the charity rest with the Trustees who meet regularly to monitor the activities of the Charity.

b. Method of appointment or election of Trustees

The management of the charity is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elected and co-opted under the terms of the Trust deed being the church constitution which includes the Rules and Regulations revision dated 24/01/2013

c. Risk management

The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to safeguarding, health-safety and security risk assessment and a major incident action plan.

d. Banking The church banks with Santander and Nat West using their branches in Ealing. The church seeks to balance the amounts which are held between these banks to get as much cover as possible via the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Whilst efforts are made to hold monies within interest yielding deposit accounts.

e. Independent Examiner - The churches interpretation of the latest requirements is that the services of an appropriately qualified person should be engaged. This report is included within this submission.

f. Organisation structure. As a Bible believing church we take for our instruction matters such as church governance from the New Testament. The structure of Elders and Deacons is utilised with the Pastor being the preaching Elder taking the lead. He, as a salaried position, is supported by an Elder and Deacons. The Elders are focussed on the spiritual wellbeing of the membership and attendees of the church whilst the Deacons focus on the general wellbeing of the membership and attendees of the church. The practical upkeep and general running of the fabric of the buildings falls under the responsibility of the Deacons. The church officers meet, at least, in compliance with the requirements of the Constitution and decisions made, which affect the church through expenditure or have need of approval are brought to the members for corporate agreement at the meetings.

g. Policies and Procedures - The church does seek to maintain a standard of record and control over its documentation with revisions being carried out, approved and changes tracked. This is an ongoing process.

Objectives and Activities

h. Policies and objectives

In setting objectives and planning for activities, the Trustees have given due consideration to general guidance published by the charity commission relating to public benefit and in particular to its supplementary public benefit guidance on the advancement of religion for the public benefit.

The principal object of the charity is to be a gathering of Christians where the praise and worship of God is offered up along biblical lines and where there is active service towards the extension of Christ's kingdom. This objective is sought to be achieved by regular Sunday services, youth work, outreach and the support of a number of missionary endeavours in the United Kingdom and abroad.

i. Grant making policies The Church Officers develop an annual allocation of grants to missionary causes before being presented to church members for agreement.

Achievements and performance

j. Going concern After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

UXBRIDGE ROAD TABERNACLE 02 Trustees Report

Reformed Baptist Church

What We Believe

We seek to proclaim the Gospel to all nations and peoples because 'it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes' (Romans 1:16)

We believe the Holy Bible in it’s entirety to be the Word of God, free from error, and every word being inspired by God. We believe it to be applicable for every generation and fully sufficient for life and faith. The Holy Bible is our only authority in all things. However, the main doctrines of God’s Word have been systematically laid out and encapsulated in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, which we believe to be a faithful record of the Bible’s doctrine and is our formal 'Basis of Faith'.

We are an Independent Church

We do not find denominations in the Word of God and we do not have formal ties to any denomination or church organisation. However, we do have close links with many like-minded churches and fellowship together with them as God gives us opportunity.

We are a Reformed Church

We hold to the main doctrines of the Reformation which are also referred to as the doctrines of Sovereign Grace. These doctrines are laid out in the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith. We preach that salvation is entirely a work of God, by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone and to the glory of God alone. Any other gospel is ’another gospel’ and a device of man to try and work his way to Heaven. We preach the Gospel freely to all and call upon everyone, everywhere to believe the Gospel and be saved by Jesus Christ alone . We practice the reformed and regulative form of worship and believe this to be Biblical, God honouring and how God desires us to worship Him.

We are an Evangelical Church

By Evangelical we mean that we do all that we can biblically by God’s grace, to reach out to all mankind with the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We believe that the great commission of Christ to His church is laid upon us and is our mission as a church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are not linked in any way to the new evangelical movement of the ’emergent church’ and others who have forsaken traditional and biblical evangelical doctrine for error.

We are a Baptist church because we hold to the practice of the baptism of all believers by full immersion in water in obedience to the command and example of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We do not find the teaching or practice of paedobaptism in the Scripture and believe it to be a serious and damaging error to the Church of Christ. Although we are a Baptist church we are not linked in any way with the Baptist Union, which we believe to be a liberal denomination.

The churches income is generated by members and adherents regular giving, Gift Aid and interest on savings accounts.

Monies are expended via upkeep and general running costs, salaries, insurances and support to like minded causes. This period included the completion of the payment for a new church organ, hand rail to the front steps and ongoing audio upgrade costs.
