The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statements of Uxbridge Road Tabernacle Reformed Baptist Church (the charity) for the year ended 30 September 2020. The Trustees confirm that the Annual report and financial statements of the charity seek to comply with the current statutory requirements, the requirements of the charity's governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" issued in January 2019 (FRS102).

Structure, governance and management

a. Constitution

The policy and operating decisions of the charity rest with the Trustees who meet regularly to monitor the activities of the Charity.

b. Method of appointment or election of Trustees

The management of the charity is the responsibility of the Trustees who are elected and co-opted under the terms of the Trust deed being the church constitution which includes the Rules and Regulations revision dated 24/01/2013.

c. Risk management

The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to safeguarding, health-safety and security risk assessment and a major incident action plan.

d. Banking The church banks with Santander and Nat West using their branches in Ealing. The church is seeking to balance the amounts which are held between these banks to get as much cover as possible via the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Whilst efforts are made to hold monies within interest yielding deposit accounts, the interest gained is negligible at this time.

e. Independent Examiner - The churches interpretation of the latest requirements is that the services of an appropriately qualified person should be engaged. This report is included within this submission.

f. Organisation structure. As a Bible believing church we take for our instruction matters such as church governance from New Testament. The structure of Elders and deacons is utilised with the Pastor being the preaching Elder taking the lead. He, as a salaried position, is supported by Elders and Deacons. The Elder/s are focussed on the spiritual wellbeing of the membership and attendees of the church whilst the Deacons focus on the general wellbeing of the membership and attendees of the church. The practical upkeep and generally running of the fabric of the buildings falls nder the responsibility of the Deacons. The church officers meet, at least, in compliance with the requirements of the Constitution and decisions made, which affect the church through expenditure or have need of approval are brought to the members for corporate agreement at the bi-monthly meetings.

g. Policies and Procedures - The church does seek to maintain a standard of record and control over its documentation with revisions being carried out, approved and changes tracked. This is an ongoing process.

Objectives and Activities

h. Policies and objectives

In setting objectives and planning for activities, the Trustees have given due consideration to general guidance published by the charity commission relating to public benefit and in particular to its supplementary public benefit guidance on the advancement of religion for the public benefit.

The principal object of the charity is to be a gathering of Christians where the praise and worship of God is offered up along biblical lines and where there is active service towards the extension of Christ's kingdom. This objective is sought to be achieved by regular Sunday services, youth work, outreach and the support of a number of missionary endeavours in the United Kingdom and abroad.

i. Grant making policies The Missionary Council develops an annual allocation of grants which are considered by the Elders and Deacons before being presented to church members for agreement.

Achievements and performance

j. Going concern After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

It should be noted that Mr Avery has a paid position as the Minister of the church and is also a Trustee which is non paid.

Covid 19. The first half of the year, October 2019 to mid- March 2020 saw the continuation of the Church's normal format of meetings for worship. prayer and youth work. In October, Harvest Thanksgiving services were held on the first Sunday of the month with gifted items of produce sent to support the local community food bank. After the evening service Raj Kumar founder of Vuyroli, a home in Chennai, India. for destitute older people who had been left on the Streets, beFng in London, found time to update the fellt)wship on the pro¥ress of the work which this church supports. It was also a pleasure in this month at a morning service to recognise the Church's desi￿ to appoint Mr. Michael Asare as a Church Elder. In November, the 128 anniversary of the foundin8 of the Church was celebrated by services lead by Pastorjohn Saunders, of Providence Chapel Chichester. In January a group of members travelled to Cheltenham in order to attend the funeral of our fomer Pastor. Rev. F.J. Harris in memory and aPp￿CIatIOn of his 25 years plus service and ministry at the Church. Up to mid - March visiting preachers were Pastor Gwynne Evans and Pastor Robert Morgan in Pastors absence and Mr. Graham Chewter of the Trinitarian Bible society on his annual visit to bring us up to date on the work of translation and distribution worldwide of God's Word. Again this year invitations to the Christrnas services were distributed in the surrounding neighbourhood but produced very little if any response by visitors to the Carol or Christmas Day services. Door to Door visitstion and Christian literature distribution in the neighbourhood together with the Mens Studv Group was limited to this period. Following the services held on 15 March the Church took the decision to close its doors. From the 22 March 2020 all worship and midweek meetings and Page No. 04

UXBRIDGE ROAD TABERNACLE Trustees Report continued Reformed Baptist Church youth work within the church building ceased due to the government lockdown on meetings and personal movement because of the extremely high number of people falling seriously ill as a result of contracting the Covid 19 virus. Initially members and contacts whose email addresses were known were contscted and encoura8ed to use the intemet to connect to ITve stream services from other recommended churches. As a form of contatt, from 25 March, Pastor contributed to 3 we@kly prayer and encouragement letter which was distributed to members and church friends electronically. Pastorfs message in the letter was uploaded on to the web site for others to view. Pastor also produced a series of 23 weekly messages entitled °A Message for Troubled fimes" based on the book of Revelation which were viewed on Semion Audio accessed through the church website and YouTube . These messages were viewed over 2500 time5 by September and demonstrated the prophecy received by John and its 3pplic3tion regarding the Coronavirus pandemic. Using a program on the COFnPUter called Zoom enables invited people to join conference calls or meetings. This medium was used for members and friends to participate in a weekly prayer meeting and Pastor to bring a Week￿ Bible study from home. From early June Sunday serVi￿S have also been broadcast using this facility. With a reduction in the severity of the pandemic, the government guidelines were changed in early July which allowed churches to re-open with a maximum of 30 attendees. The church officers therefore thou£ht the re-opening of the church could be managed to the govemments requirements if adequate safety precautions were put in place. Previously the members had been asked by e-mail if they would attend if the church was re-opened. The majority had been in favour. In order to live stream the Se￿iCe$ from the pulpit for 3 wider audience and members unable to attend, the church needed to be equipped with internet aC￿SS and suitable equipment purchased. This instsllation work was completed on 10 August and the first live streamed service from the church was held on the moming of th 16 August. The return to evening services followed soon after. The Trustees would specifically like to thank those members who have been involved in setting up, operating and managing this technology to make the mid-week meetings and Sunday services possible. With regard to the Pastorate initially a number of men were invited to preach at the church but these invitations had to be cancelled when the national lock down was announced. Arrangements have since been made for these men to preach at the church early in the new church year as long as there is no serious rise in the coronavirus cases locally or nationally. Page No. 05
