The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Hyson Green and Forest Fields Summary of the main achievements during the period 2024 has been another busy year in the life of our vibrant, multicultural. inner urban city church. We continue to pursue our aim of 'Crossing Cultures with Christ,. Our leadership and participation in church life expresses that desire. We have developed our technology and ways of working so that we could reach out to more people across the country, and even abroad. We have continued to use a mixed approach to meeting, with some preferring to meet in person and others, especially those that are more vulnerable. preferring to meet on Zoom. As a way of reaching out to the people in our parish, letting them know that we exist and that we care about them, we On￿ again delivered Christmas and Easter cards to many homes in our parish. Together with the card we included a prayer card. On this card we offered to pray for people. if they returned the card letting us know their needs. This year we began a new outreach into our community: Church Wtthout Walls. We are offering free tea and coffee near a supermarket in our parish as an opportunity to meet people and get to know them. It has proved very successful. We meet once or twi￿ a month on Saturday morning and find that people are surprised and delighted that we are offering something new and a Chan￿ to chat. Although building numbers of those who come on Sunday morning to our ServI￿S is not the real aim several have started to do so. On Tuesday evenings we hold an online Al Massira course for people from a Muslim background. The course takes about 6 months to complete and has about 30 members. When the course has been completed members move to our group that also meets online on Thursday evenings. We have studied a discipleship training course this year. The Farsi speakers are mostly from Iran and Afghanistan. After sharing news, reading a psalm together in Farsi and singing worship songs in Farsi, we divide into 2 breakout rooms for the Bible study. The groups are well attended and the members seem to be enthusiastic about attending. We have continued to serve the most vulnerable with deliveries of hygiene products, kindly given to us by another voluntary sector organisation. the Hygiene Bank. Children, young people and families have always been an important part of the life of our church. During this year we have tried drfferent ways of supporting and including them during services with special children's activities. involvement in all age worship, including leading the servi￿, and a summer programme. We take regular assemblies at our local schools, including a private Muslim Primary School, and they visit the church for Experience Easter and Christingle and concerts. Once a month on Saturday mornings we hold Messy Church for families which attracts about 40 people. We have a large team of about 20 people that help facilitate the event, which includes lunch afterwards.

The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Hyson Green and Forest Fields Our leadership training programme is helping new people to come forward to help lead. Despite a year of spending more than income, the church has given away over £10,000 including to those less fortunate in our own community and those in other parts of the world.
