## **Swarkestone Cricket Club**

## **Trustees Annual Report, 1st October 2022 to 30th September 2023**

## **Registered Charity Number 1132660**

THE PURPOSES OF THE CLUB ARE THE PROMOTION OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF SWARKESTONE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR PLAYING CRICKET.

The monies raised by charitable donations in the last 12 months are to be used for supporting club development.

The club continues to provide facilities for cricket to all ages and members of the community. Our Junior section is going from strength to strength and now represents players from a diverse crosssection of the local community. In addition, the club has further developed our women’s section to offer league cricket for the first time.

The club has raised funds to support the community participation including the annual Golf Day which had excellent support from club members. We also offer our pavilion for hire for functions to the local community which lacks another facility to use.

Volunteers continue to maintain the fabric of the club and in the period the club invested heavily in maintenance of both the fixed-assets and machinery, to enable the future sustainability of the club.

The accounts for the period showed 8 closing bank balance of £6,350.80 at 30"
September 2023 down foran opening balance of £19.594.08 atthe start oftheye8r.
The deficit of £13,243.28 w88 bec8U8e of continued difficult conditions withln local
sporting organisations. The club strtve to incr8as8 income through planned Social
activities and greater sponsorship. A strong membership across a wide age range gives
the club a diverse range of fundraising opportunitie8.
I confirm that the figures have been checked by myself and 8how a true and falr view of
the financial activities of Sw8rkestone Cricket Club for the year.
