Zoom had a rebrand in 2023 arnl thanged to 'Liltle Kids.. There was an effort lo rebuild th6 teams in
both Creche and Lbttk Khts as each were lackr¥J volunteets. A lot of the older kids were moved up lo SMKC
but happily new families and babies jtined. so the grw rema]r￿1 stable in n￿nbel *d lively. The teachiThJ
was adapted for younger age range. We have sent infom)ation to parents through a PTinled new3leller
during the year.
st Mary's Kids. Church (SMKC)
Angle has been runnirwJ SMKC. our group for &11s. It grew massively ￿er the cOu￿e of Ihe year. wth new
fwnilies lo￿l￿J cl¥klren bringing their friends along. On Sunday rnomings. SMKC lypically had belween
25-30 Ghildren.
Holiday Club
We ran a Holiday Club in August, led by ArKJie aNI the team. for our local primary s¢hool-8ged thiklren. We
had 2S Ch￿dren come along to Spend the morning ￿￿th sports coac￿$ followed by an afternoon of detective-
themed mystery looking into the story of Jesus. We had a mix of both local farn1￿$ and of our church
Kids. Movle Nlghts
In 2023. we sU￿sSfUllY held a Kids. Movk Nlght every Oth￿ rnonth. 11 remained a very popular event for
the local community. Famllies felt cMfident lo invite other families erioyed having thèse movie nlghts.
St Mary's S¢hool
We have continL*d oursupport of c(th¢tr￿ worship led by Angle Das and half ternly church $8Nices
led by Kitstin¢. The school had a rM)Sitive Ofsted reFKKI. which has already led to an increase In the number
of famikes atter)ding the schooL A Sd￿01 rAKJir p8rformed at our Family Carol servi￿ ar￿ Ihe lunchtime
prayer club ha5 continued. Vve also held tlyee prayer space days. whi¢h helped to emb8d th8 Collective
worship theme further and supported the texhels n the Splritual Development of both chIld￿n and staff.
Kirstine cortinued to offer pastoral support to the school c(mmunity and accompanied the faith councll to the
LDS School's servi￿ at St Paul's Calhedral.
Youth Department
Our youlh group for 11-18s mel weekty on Sunday nKKrungs for games. bibie study. disc￿￿$10￿ and prayer.
We had a ¢£￿$1S￿￿ group of between 15 ar￿ 20 youffj people attendlFWJ each week, many of whom brought
themselves along lo church, vthich we found greally encouraging. We also held a monthly older youlh
dlscipleship group for those in scl>Jol years 11 to 13. group met one Sunday a month for food and
conversallon about f￿h and Tehvant life issues aNI then attended St Mary's eveniTrJ service together.
In April, we held ourfirst-ever you1￿led swice. YouThJ people from across the y(Krth group welcomed at the
entrance of the church, served breakfast, led the wotship. gave the notices, read from the bible. shared
testimonies and refle¢*ons. and prayed for congregatim. It was a great S(￿￿$ and well recelved by the
moming congregation. We to have anofvr youth-led service next yew. In August. we took fourteen
young people to the Satetlites Christian Youth Festival. Overfive days we attended worshipservices moming
and evensro, seminws and a¢tiv*ies. aThY socials Ki the evening. Wo had an amazing time towher with a
feal sense offamily amongst the group and we saw a great openness to praying for one another in the power
ofthe Spirii. As well as ￿lIdIng on ihe frientships withn the ￿0￿.the group also enjoyed formng friendships
with young peopte from other churches *KI youth groups on sle.
Siudents

a day trp away lo Brtghton in May. whid) was a great bonding expeiience. The students also gathered for
'studenl nights. where they W￿$ll￿d together, listered to short talks, chatted about faith. and Ihen prayed
together. l+Ve had a Gonsistent Nmber of st￿ntS in 2023 V￿th around 14-ie students who would call St
Mary's their church. Eight sludents ￿adUatyA ri summer arKI integrated into the chLr¢h community after

people volunteered on fv leam in 2023.
Life Cours8
Th8 Llfe course ran 1￿ce in 2023 with a Life Day in March at St Marfs and a V￿kend away In
November. John Peters and th& team SWI to Contin￿ to make the cwrse as SC￿$s1b1e as possible to
those with Tr) familiarity with church aNI we Y￿re e￿raged by ￿0p18'S respon885. We hosted o larg8 Lrfe
Dirwwr in Seplember lo which many ￿Ople in chwch irwited U*ir friends.
Small Groups
8y the end of the year. we h*1 2Q smd wow>8 in Iho churd) wbth rrM)r8 to 8tart In 2024. Fifteen of
th8 groups were open lo new members. Several of Ihe grouw large and may need to split tnto Iwo. Over
th& year, the groups were encourajed to go t¢ social events. Lrfe Courses. Prayer rne8tin￿, the Big
Day Out and traiiwro sessions. Ttw wore also enccwaged to and support any Jigsaw gatherings as
small groups.
'Journ&y Irom Dependency is a wp thal wil be gatherirrfJ to sup￿ people in our communty who are
pursuing freedom from dependency upon alco￿1 or drugs. This group will be in addition to any NA. AA or
rehab programmes they are in. From September. a group met weekly to plan •KI way for this gathering
whlch will follow the 12 stews with additional faith-based discussion and wayer.
Uganda Mlsslon Trlp
Both Klrstine and Libby Grantté travew to Ugarth ￿ F8t*uary 2023 for the fwst-time post pandemic. It wa8
good to re¢Onr￿¢t vrith our mission partngrs and to find out how the mission teams were doing. In April 2023
we retumed 411th a team of w lo support work ￿the Kiwoko HosFital Mission Team and Goshen ¥¢ht)ol.
Prayer
We continued to meet ￿ Tuesday rnornings to pray for the Lrfe Cowse and lik of the Church. We also held
OCC8sional evening wayer meelirvJs.
Coronation Street Party
We hekl a Street Party on Sunday 7th May to celebrate King Chath 111 coronation. The Gomrnunity in our
parish was invited along through a fyer drop and many got in wnlacl before the event to say they were
looking fotward to ri and to offer Iheir help in Ihè set up and food prepwation. The day was a big sU￿$S with
bolween 401>500 peO￿e coming along over the two hours. Nthich was an increase on our Platlnum
Jubilee party Ihe year before. Lds offood was brought and shared. the team did a great job getting everything
re￿Y arvj in entertainirg children with craft activities arKI face painting, and the band added a real sense of
end Gdebration.
Blg Day
In September we hosted a Big Day Ckrt at Restore Hope Latimer. Afier a slow start lo sign-U￿. we had 200
P8ople atterKJ from bolh the moming and evenirKJ services. The day consisted of two sessions wilh worshlp.
a talk and mlnistry. free in the aftern￿n with optional games and walks. k￿￿5 and youlh work. and a
firepit and karaoke in the evening. It was a successful day. helped by th8 wonderful weather, aTrJ we
had lot8 of positive teedbarl from the conwaion.

There were over 400 at our Family Carol Seryice. arxl. as usual, people enjoyed the servir£. Seeing so mary
local families, particularty those supporting St Marfs Sd)ool Choir. was good. The servi¢e felt wam and
friendty. The nativity was really wel done by the children and helped by Matilda's script. The yothh did

Carol Servke
The evening seTri¢e was full of lrfe numericalty larger than in recert years. The churth was beautifully
decorated, ￿d ￿ ouiside included an LED 'FollOwt￿ Sla¢ deslgned by Hannah and Nicho185 to eM￿a818e
thbs yeafs fvme. We had live readings. Spoken word ￿rf¢￿m8r￿. rap, dm. sorrfjs and all-new carol
arr3n9emènts spanning varlous genres and cultural inlluOn￿. The d)oirg¢wfrom 14 to 35 arKI Mike Toolan
and Petsr Russell did a fantast￿ lob le*ling them wtyth enthusiasm. Matt preached for Ih8 first time at thls
servjcg. The se￿iCe wa5 creative and ¥ibrar& wlmch was woTrJerful for everyone there. inck¥JiTrJ the many
guests.
Christrnas Servl¢es
John lèd th8 Clyistmas Eve midnight communion service for around 40 people. while Andy Hailh led the
Christmas Oay seNice for about 80. Thes8 vme boih well re￿Ned.
Every Day wlth Matt
2023 was our seventh star of Every Day vthh Klatt. The alm of Every Day wilh Matt has always been to
expo$8 the clwrch to the breadih of tho s¢r¥Awe5, to resource people in prayer to utilise Ihe gifts and
experience of our d)wch community. year. we agaln d&ciJed to readnisten lo the entire New Teslament
