Principal Activity

The Principal Activity of the charity during the year remained was that of promotion for charitable purpose for the benefit of the people in India to provide them with relief of sickness, healthcare and health education for the poor and deprived an economic environment that can be sustained in the long term.

Statement of Trustees Responsibilities

Law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the charity's financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year (unless the charity is entitled to prepare accounts on the alternative receipts and payments basis) in preparing financial statements giving a true and fair view, the trustees should follow best practice and :

Selecting suitable accounting policies and applying them consistently Make judgment and estimates that are reasonable and prudent -

Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis, unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business

The trustees are responsible for the keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial statements comply with the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention of and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Accountant’s report to the members and trustees on the accounts of Bhagat Hari Singh Charitable Hospital

In accordance with your instructions, and in order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Charities Act 1993, we have compiled the accounts of the charity which comprise the profit and loss account, the balance sheet and related notes from the accounting records and information and explanations you have given to us.

This report is made to charity's members and trustees, in accordance with the terms of our engagement. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the accounts that we have been engaged to compile, report to the charity's members and trustees that we have done so, and state those matters that we have agreed to state to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Charity and Charity's members and trustees, for our work or for this report.

You have acknowledged on the balance sheet as at 31 March 2018 your duty to ensure that the charity has kept proper accounting records and to prepare accounts that give a true and fair view under the Charities Act 1993. You consider that the charity is exempt from the statutory requirements for an audit for the year.

We have not been instructed to carry out an audit of the accounts. For this reason, we have not verified the accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not, therefore, any opinion on the accounts.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES

The basis of Preparation of Accounts

The financial statements are prepared under historical cost convention and are in accordance with applicable accounting standards. In preparing the financial statements the charity follows best practice as set out in the statement of recommended Practice on accounting and reporting by charities: The charities SORP 2005.

Incoming Resources

This represents the total income receivable during the year which is recognised on the accruals basis for accounting except for:

a) All donations including sums due under gift aid and deeds of the covenant are included in the year in which they are received.

b) Membership subscriptions are credited to income in the full year they are received.
