Rob and hi5 family settled quickly into parish life and in August hosted a welcome event at the Rectory, where members of all three churches gathered together in fellowship. During his first few months, Rob and his family made every effort to visit all three churches regularly, meeting parishioners and building relationships across the parish. We remain deeply grateful to all who give so generously to the parish through their time, skills and f inancial support. Once again, the parish paid its Parish Share in full, which was recognised and appreciated by the Diocese. Looking ahead, the parish continues to consider how best to ensure sustainability both in the short term and for the long-term future of our mission and ministry. Connections with the wider diocesan community have been maintained through participation in the Deanery Synod, Deanery services, Mothers, Union regional meetings and the World Day of Prayer service. Internationallyi we have continued our valued relationship with Bishop Moses of Rorya District, Mara, Tanzania. The Mother5, Union, supported by the parish, raised funds for two of Bishop Moses, appeals during the year. Worship and Prayer Throughout the year, church membership has remained stable, with a small number of new people joining our worshipping congre9ations. It has been encouraging to welcome new members to the parish through Baptism, and to see some of these families also engaging with Messy Church. Sunday morning services have continued at their usual times, alongside several well- attended whole-parish services celebrating Patronal Festivals and other special occasions. At St Michael's and St Helen's, a Family Service with Holy Communion has been introduced on the first Sunday of the month and has been warmly received by the families who attend. Evening worship has also been enriched by the introduction of a Healing Prayer Service with the Laying on of Hands and a Taizé-style service. During Holy Week, Celtic Evening Prayer with Lectio Divina was held at St Lucius. Following the arrival of Revd Rob, the Wednesday morning Eucharist was re-introduced as a weekly Service at a new time of 10.3oam. Thi5 later start time has enabled some members of the congregation to return to midweek worship. Seasonal services continued to be well SUPPOrted, including Harvest Festivals, when generou5 donations of food were given to our Food Share. Farnley Tyas First School, All Hallows, School and Hill View Academy have continued to hold worship services in church. These included services for Lent and Easter, Leavers, Days Harvest, Advent and Christmas. Hill View Academy attended for both Easter and Christmas celebrations, and special Christmas events were particularly well attended, especially our Christingle services held at each church. Representative pupi15 from six schools in the parish joined us at the War Memorial for the Remembrance Service on li November, followed by refreshments at All Hallows provided by the Mothers, Union. Later in the month, pupils from King James, School attended their annual Founders, Day service. Young adults aged 18 to 25 who are completing their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award have met every Wednesday evening. The introduction of Pilates cla55es on Tuesday and Friday evenings ha5 also proved highly successful and fully booked. Little Hallows ha5 seen a rise in attendance since September 2025, and Messy Church Sessions themed around Good Fridayi Pentecost, summertime and Harvest have successfully attracted local families. Baptism information classe5 have also been held throughout the year. Community events have included a Passiontide concert, coffee mornings, Wednesday Open Church and a family Pancake evening. All Hallows hosted the Almondbury Jazz Festival and Café, raising funds for a local charity. The Mothers, Union has continued to play an important role in parish life, raising awareness of domestic violence locally and supporting a number of charitable initiatives. Funds were raised for AFIA (Away From It All), enabling holidays for families in need, while financial support continued for our partner community in Rorya, Tanzania, as well as other national and international charities. St Lucius has continued to reach out to the wider community by making full use of its improved facilities in both the church and churchyard. Fundraising and social activities included school worshipi concerts, Lent lunches, classes and Wl meetings. The Community Café has continued to grow in popularityi regv1arly welcoming more than 40 people each week. The Film Club has also remained a valued space where people from across the community can gather and enjoy time together. The Eco-church group has been highly active, using a collaborative approach to transform the churchyard into a more ecologically sustainable space. Working parties throughout the year have involved many different groups. An open churchyard event showcased the progress made in creating a cleaner, greener and safer environment for visitor5. The Probation Service'Payback' team has also contributed significantly, becoming part of our wider mission by learning new skills within a supportive and caring environment. As part of our Creationtide celebrations in September, Bishop Smitha led mornin9 worship for the parish as we celebrated achieving the Silver Eco Award. During the churchyard clearing work, the grave of the first vicar of St Lucius, Revd Cutfield Wardroper, was rediscovered. A grant was received to help restore the grave, and this work is expected to be completed in early 2026. The parish website and Facebook page continue to be updated regularlyi featuring local photography and providing fresh and engaging content. Together with Almondbury Information online, these platForms help to profile our churches within the local community. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 and in accordance with the Church Accounting Regulations 2006 governing the individual accounts of PCCS, and with the Regulations true and fair view, provision5. They have been prepared under FRS 102 {2016} as the applicable accounting standards ènd the 2016 version of the Statement of Recommended Practice, Accounting and Reporting by Charities ISORP(FRS1021}. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The financial statement5 include all transactions, assets and liabilities for which the PCC is responsible in law. They do not include the accounts of church groups that owe their affiliation to another body, northose that are informal gatherings of church members. Going concern The accounts have been prepared on the going concern basis. The Trustees consider that there is no material uncertainty regarding the Charity's ability to continue to operate a5 a going concern for the foreseeable future, and in any case for at least 12 months from the date of this report. Fund accounting Restricted funds comprise {al income from endowments which is to be expended only on the restricted purposes intended by the donor and Ib) revenue donations or grants for a specific PCC activity intended by the donor. Where these funds have unspent balances, interest on their pooled investment is apportioned to the individual funds on an average balancebasis. Unrestricted funds are income funds which are to be spent on the Pcc'sgeneral purposes. Designated fund5 are general funds set aside by the PCC for use in the future. Project funds are designated for particular projects for administration purposes only. Designated funds remain unrestricted and the PCC will move any surplus to other general funds. Incoming resources Planned givingi collections and similar donations are recognised when received. Tax refunds are recognised when received. Grants and legacies are accounted for when the PCC is entit5ed to the use of the resources, their ultimate receipt Is considered reasonably certain and the amoLFnts due are reliably quantifiable.
