## **Section C                    Objectives and activities** 

To advance the education, appreciation and knowledge of the arts, including, but without limitation, fine art, film, video and performance and in particular the work of John Latham. **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** In accordance with the Charity Commission’s guidance, Flat Time House ran a programme of public exhibitions and events, as well as making the institution open to researchers working on exhibitions at other public institutions in the UK and abroad, and to students working towards degree and post-graduate qualifications. A permanent display is also open to the public by appointment outside of exhibitions. 

During this period, Flat Time House presented a major off-site exhibition to an audience of over 9,000 (Barbara Steveni _I Find Myself_ 1 March–8 June 2025 at Modern Art Oxford), with over 5,000 engaging with workshops and educational activities This was in addition to a **Summary of the main** programme of exhibitions, residencies, performances, workshops and **activities undertaken for the** talks at Flat Time House, incorporating over 50 contributors including **public benefit in relation to** artists, writers, curators and academics. **these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS Flat Time House presented a major exhibition, Barbara Steveni _I Find Myself_ (1 March–8 June 2025 at Modern Art Oxford which included 3 new commissions by contemporary artists Eloise Hawser, Anne Bean and Laure Prouvost. A programme of public talks and workshops including public discussions featuring Policy Lab, part of the UK civil service. Events at Flat Time House included a solo exhibition of Can Altay, _Been Waiting for the Rain to Flow_ (31 May–7 July 2024); _Home to Roost: Imagining the Present_ , a workshop with artist Jeremiah Day; 5 Films by Athanasios Argianas, a screening and in-conversation; a live performance by US artist Clifford Owens; _PICNIC_ , a collaboration between artists Elisabeth Molin and Agata Madejska featuring readings by 8 contributors; _and De-production – First Trimester Mourning Sickness,_ 4 new performances to coincide with artist Lyónn Wolf’s residency at Flat Time House. EDUCATION A continuing partnership with UP Projects, Constellations, a yearly artist research and development programme derived from an open-call, supported 8 practitioners based across the country who are working with socio-political issues, community-oriented practice and/or public contexts. This year the programme included an artist residency for the 8 artists with Deveron Projects, Aberdeenshire. An AHRC-funded PhD at Birmingham City University was begun working in partnership between Eastside Projects and Flat Time House. Educational visits included from BA Fine Art, Chelsea College of Art; MFA Sculpture Royal College of Art; MFA Fine Art, Gothenburg University and others. PUBLICATIONS A limited-edition zine produced by Wolf as part of his 2024 residency at Flat Time House, _De-production – First Trimester Mourning Sickness_ featured contributions by Iarlaith Ní Fheorais, Linda Stupart, Raju Rage and Promona Sengupta. RESIDENCIES Eloise Hawser undertook a long-term production residency, resulting in new work, presented as part of Barbara Steveni: _I Find Myself_ , and a solo exhibition at Flat Time House, scheduled for 2025. A residency with Lyónn Wolf, a trans, working class, visual artist, educator & writer based in Berlin and Dublin, in collaboration with Askeaton Contemporary Arts will result in an exhibition in 2025. Emerging Irish artist Isabel English undertook a research-based residency. A residency with Greek artist Athanasios Argianas will result in an exhibition in 2026. A long-term residency with Intoart involving artists with learning disabilities using the house as a space to talk, reflect and develop new ideas, also continued during this period. AUDIENCE In person visitors were 1,978. Offsite audiences were 3672 visitors including 1834 attending educational events. Online audience engagement totalled 36,342.
