To advance the education, appreciation and knowledge of the arts, including, but without limitation, fine art, film, video and performance and in particular the work of John Latham.

In accordance with the Charity Commission’s guidance, Flat Time House ran a programme of public exhibitions and events, as well as making the institution open to researchers working on exhibitions at other public institutions in the UK and abroad, and to students working towards degree and post-graduate qualifications. A permanent display is also open to the public by appointment outside of exhibitions.

During this period Flat Time House presented 4 in-person exhibitions, 2 online exhibitions, 8 online events and 4 in-person events, including performances, presentations of new artworks, workshops, talks and a new collaboration with local venue Peckham Audio. Programming incorporated over 80 contributors including artists, writers, curators and academics. Flat Time House also produced two publications with contributions of original writing.

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

EXHIBITIONS Exhibitions included three group shows in collaboration with the Roberts Institute of Art, supported by Arts Council England and Henry Moore Foundation with major new commissions by Grace Ndiritu, Julius Heinemann and Damien Roach with the Boyle Family; and important works by 20[th] Century artists including Phyllida Barlow, Bram Bogart and Antoni Tàpies; Liliane Lijn, Tim Head, Bob Law and Wolfgang Tillmans; and John Latham. These exhibitions were _Untitled, 1956_ (10 March–10 April), _Red, Green and Yellow_ (28 April–29 May) and _Gone_ – _Fishing_ (16 June 17 July). An exhibition featuring works by the Boyle Family, _Dig_ (12 October–1 November) accompanied the launch of an accompanying publication for this programme. An online presentation of new work by Grace Ndiritu accompanied _Untitled, 1956_ . An online exhibition to make the launch of the _Archive of Destruction reader I_ included 10 original essays alongside archive materials from 50+ artists. 

EVENTS In person events included _Beyond Image_ , an evening of live music and visuals off-site at Peckham Audio; _Site Report_ , a performance by Rhona Warwick Paterson in collaboration with Theatrum Mundi; a panel discussion and film screening by the Women’s Art Library, Goldsmiths; and _Art & My Career_ , a workshop by Olivia Hernaïz. Online events included _Incidental Mpala_ , a conference looking at social change and sustainable working in Zambian art; _Show and tell on how to dwell in the house of artI,_ live presentations by the /origin\forward/slash\ group of artists; and _Constellations Assemblies_ , 6 presentations and panel discussions looking at current debates within socially engaged art and public art hosted in partnership with UP Projects. EDUCATION A continuing partnership with UP Projects, Constellations, a yearly artist research and development programme derived from an open-call, supported 10 practitioners based across the country who are working with socio-political issues, community-oriented practice and/or public contexts. Youth Platform, a group of local young people undertook a workshop with artist Melanie Issaka, making work to present at local festival GALA. A year-long partnership with Royal College of Art MA Curating Contemporary Art was begun during this period, and a term-long series of workshops with Goldsmiths MFA Fine Art. This was in addition to one-off educational visits including from Dartington Arts School MA Arts and Place; Chelsea College of Art MA Curating Collections and PGDip Fine Art; London College of Communication BA Photography; Courtauld MA History of Art amongst others. 

RESIDENCIES The _/origin\forward/slash\_ group of artists and philosophers led by Hester Reeve (Reader in Fine Art, Sheffield Hallam University) in association with The Centre for Philosophy and Visual Arts (Kings College London) continued their remote placement. Research & Development for a long-term residency exchange was begun with Wayi Wayi Art Gallery & Studio, Livingstone Zambia, with support from the British Council. 

## PUBLICATIONS

The _Archive of Destruction Reader I_ developed by independent curator and writer Jes Fernie included new texts and artworks commissions from 9 artists and writers. _Untitled (1956) – Red, Green and Yellow – Gone Fishing_ , a publication accompanying a trio of exhibitions at Flat Time House, featured 5 newly commissioned texts amongst other artistic and academic contributions. 

## AUDIENCE 

In person visitors were 2,020, however it is worth noting that these were impacted by the legacy of covid, with audience figures not yet fully returning. Hybrid programming continued with online audiences building. Audiences at online events totalled 3398 in addition to a total online audience engagement of 38,540.
