Governing Document dgs¢rib&s, the purpose of Ihe church is the advonc8menl ol the Christian fallh in o¢cordanc&
with the princlples of th8 Blblè and the practlces of the Baptist D9nominatlon. These alm5 are carried out both by
$tgff learn and volunteers seNlng the church 8 varlely of dlfferent ways,
During the year, Ilvg and onllne servlces, Blble studies. pray8r m88llngs, Llle groups and youth and Ghildrgn'5 work
were provided. 11 pgople were bapllsed. We continued th¢ work of the Christians Against Poverty Debt Cenlre, with
7 cllenls becoming debt fr88, and a lolal of £87,59S in client d8bts wer9 written off in 2025. We distributed 43
Chrlslmas hamp8rs lo famllle8 wilhln the CAP mlnlslry. Each hamper included everything needed for a Chri$lma8
dinner, along with some treats and glfts. Over 120 people b8nefilted from this. Over 200 Christmas gifts were
bought by memb8rs of Ihg ¢hurch lo glve lo young peoplè leaving the EastboLJrne care system as a respons8 to our
Glvlng Tree appeal. We olso advanced the 'Community Fridge, minislry," reducing food waste, alleviating food
poverty and reaching an averago of 50 f8mllles per week. The Community Fridge also ran breakfast clubs during
the Easter and Summer holidays, providing a free broaklasl and snacks to famllSes one day per week. The Fridge
was also able lo offer oxlra food to clSents for the Christrnas period. The pastoral vlsiling team continued to grow
and serve the church. 1 Alph8 course look place and the emphasis r)n the developm&nl of Life GrDUPS wilhln lh8
church continued. The group for 18-35 year olds, which was eslablishgd in the latter part of 2023, conlinugd lo
me81. The ministry for Dlsciploship continued. wllh 2 staff members working log8ther lo provide dlscipleship for man
and women with the a55iStan¢e ol a leam of volunteers.
Other organls81ions such as men's and women's fellowships also continued lo provlde support to additional sour¢95

Church with events for young people in thg Iocglily includlng Girls, Brigade, and Friday clubs for children and youth.
The church also ha8 a team who provide voluntary marshalllng services for many communlty events In Eastbourne

The church continue8 to fulfil Ils oblectives by supportlng local Ini118tlvey for the relief of suffering and poverty li.e.
NetworA} and a varlgty of mlssion projects including SUPPOrtlng a church in Lebedyn. Ukraine.

People in the locality continue lo make extensive use of the church's buildings and facilltles. Among the many
groups using our facSlltles are Rock Choir, the Blood Donation S&rvic8 and U3A.
The church stalf ¢onlinu8 to administer and direct Ihls operalion under the leadership of the Corg Leadership Team.
Many volunle$rs, who give of their lime and expertlse, are involvod In the delivery of Ihgse mlnSstrigs. A number of
staff and volunteers have undertakon Flrè Safety training and 2 members of staff btrgan devglopmenl courses
during the y88r. W& 8mployed a new member of staff in S8pt•mber 2025 a5 Head of Family Ministries.
2025 was our ¢enlenary year, and we celebrated in June with a weekend of events includino a concert. an Open
Day and a church plcnlc.
Gifts and donations are given lo organisalions and indlvSduals In accordance with th8 oblecllves of the church. Thè
church conllnues lo be supported largely by the $8crlficSal giving of its memb8rs and attendees. Glfts and donations
in the year are Shown in Note 8.
During the ye8r. a worklng group conllnued to Invo6119alo the posslbilily of convetlng 10 8 CIO. Thiy has Sncurred
some legal fees.
Flnancial revlew
The Trust's regular gSving was insLrficient lo cover planngd 8xp8ndilure for the year. How8ver, the Tgspon5e to an
appeal to the members encouraged a 3ignlncant number of ono off glfts whlch resulted In a surplus for the year of
£32,992 provSdlng a buffor for 2026 unlll general glvlng Incre88è8 to a 18v81 lo fund the mini$tr185 tha church
provldes.

meet likely and ungxpected capital exp8ndilur8 needs.

The policy of the church Is that a Charlty Reserve Fund equivalent lo 3 months expenditure should be m8Sntalned,
holding cash which has not been designated for any specbfic purpose. The trustees consider that malntainlng a
reserve of £82,000 wlll ensure that, In the 8venl of 3igntficanl drop In lundlng, th8y wlll be at>l& to conUnue th
Church's current actlvllies, whlle conslderatlon 15 given to ways In which additional funds may be ralsed.
Wg had a Food Hyglene In$pectlon in Jung and were awarded 5 $ler$.
A Fire Risk 8ssessmont look place In July and 8 8chedulo of works has been drawn up wllh any araas ol ¢on¢em
beSng addressed.
The Annual Health and Safety inspedlon took p18¢e In OctobeT and again a schedule of work8 hes bgèn drawn up
with any areas of con¢ern being addressed.
Regul8r in8pectSons of our properties IManse8 and Church flatl continued, and remedial works have bee
undertaken as n8e8ssary. On& of the manses had a naw roof, new hob, Tpdgcor8tion and clean. New bedroom
carpels were also fittgd and the garden cleared & lidled.

lo risk and short lem avallablllty of such monies. The Trust has for a nUM￿r of years held M & G Charifund Units,
whlch 8r8 5ublecl to Block market fluctuations. Th8S8 investments are easSly reallsable and the church is satisfied
wlth the perfomance of theB8 inv&slments.
The trustg9s have consldered the ma}or rlsks lo whlch the Church Is exposed In p8rtlcular those related lo thè
operations and fin8n¢es of the Church. Thgy are satisfied that appropriale systems are In placa lo mltigale the
Church's exposure lo such risks. lo safeguartj the assets of th8 Church and should prevent andlor detect frgud and

Plans for futuro p•rl¢d$
The church is seeking lo galn control of the church and hvo monsos from Ihe BUC who currenlly controls them
through two Trusts. To do this the BUC has Instructed the church that il musl become a CIO In order lo dl8cu8s the
transfer of conlrr)l. The BUC has agreed the CIO documenlalion. and it has been sent lo the Charlly Commisslon
for pr8-8pproval prior lo converslon from a CLG lo a CIO being r891$1grod and taking effocl. Thls Should lake pla¢9
later In 2026, when we wlll then negotbale wllh the 8UC règardlng the Iransfor of the Irusl8 from BUC control to the
new church CIO Ch8rf1y.
