Objectives and activities St Wstan's PCC has the responsibility of cooperating with the Vicar, in promoting in the ecdesiastical parish, the whole mission of the church, pastoral, evangelistic, social, and ecumenical. It also has Maintenan￿ responsibilities for the Church and graveyard. Church Attendance There are 96 (106) parishioners on the Church Electoral Roll, 28 (32) of whom are not resident within the parish. The average weekly attendance, counted during October was 64 (57), Easter communicants were 64 (80) and approximate 245 (180) people attended services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. During 2023 there We￿ 8 baptisms, 5 weddings and 17 funerals including burial of ashes, held in St Wstan's. Revlew of the Year The fvll PCC met six times during the year wrth an average attendance of 68%. A brief extraordinary meeting was held on 5th June to approve the Parish Profile which had been written as part of the process for finding a new Vicar for the benefi￿. Six meetings of the Standing Committee were also held. Meetings were held in either St Wystan's Church or the British Legion. Nick Parish was with us for an extended period during the year up until 21 $1. August. His focus was mainly on mission within the benefi￿. Meri Braziel completed her first year of Readerfs Training during the year and the PGC unanimously passed her application to continue for a second year. Memorial Plaques set into Memorial Garden must now be 16° square rather than 18° as previously. Adjustments may need to be made to the positioning of ashes internments as the live cable for the floodlighting runs under the area and needs to be avoid. We have been given a Digital Giving Device by the Di0￿se. This is now instslled in church near the door so that those who wish to make a card donation or to pay for something in church can now do so. A new Vicar was appointed to the Benefice in November and will be installed on Tuesday 19th March 2024 in St Wstan's Ghurch. He is Revd. Stephen Short and is corning to us from Melboume Parish. He will continue to live in me1￿uMe with his family. The Diocese are undertaking a review of all its glebe land, church house and larger parsonages, including ours here, in Repton this work will be carried out by Savills, The di0￿Se is still deciding on the future of the vicarage in Repton.
