Jonathan writes"
Spiing is the time ol year lo look and wonder at signs of new life. My wife is a keen gardener. whereas I
am a keen observer of gardeners
Nature was often used by Jesus in r4elaphor and parable lo elucidale on his ministry, and we do not need

Might l echo these senlimenls In this report as we look forward lo another season
To keep with the garden analogy for our church community arHI parish. is lo say 'of course there is work

We look together now lo areas of our parish life In need of cullivaling. fenewal, re-pottirig, shifting lo a

In none ol Ihis Is death mentioned. 01 course. sometimes even in the ￿$1 kepl garden5 death comes,
and root and branch are taken out.
To bring Js back lo the Gospel. what does the message ol Easter tell us aboul death?
11 asks death where Is yolir sling
Where is your victory?
Easter tells us thai
Christ has conquered death and the empty lomb is rediindant of Ils power. so even
things that die hive not been lost We do not reed lo think of grief or defeat but rather be comforted by
Ljltimate triumph and new life possible through whal Chrisl has done
As we all joyfully labnur in the garden of the l Drd in Mortlakp and Fast Shepn. may we meet what this
new season brings with renewed hope and confident laith. May we be hospitable and work with the

Bring along the rifjhl gear and eauipment for the jobs in hand. DeliL7ht in the beauty of seeino where God
will lake us.
What a garden lo observe that will be.

Jonathan and l are. together. writing the Team Rector s report this year as the parish is (for the lime being)
without an Incumbent. Ann Nickson retired at the end ol January after thirteen and a half years as Team

recommendations lo establish full Independen￿ of safeguarding operations and scru:iny In the Church of
England To address widespiead shortcomings and restore trust and confidence. Professor Jay
